I brought my mom in for a massage using my membership, paid for her massage, and left while she had her appointment. After her massage, while I was no longer there, she was approached about signing up for her own membership. My mom lives in Troy, Montana and was only visiting California. She made that clear and expressed concern about signing up because she doesn't live here. She was assured that Massage Envy has locations in Montana, the membership could be used nationwide, and she could cancel at any time. Based on those assurances, she signed up. What she wasn't told was that the closest Massage Envy within Montana is in Missoula, approximately 179 miles from her home. The other Montana location is more than 500 miles away. They knew she lived in Troy when they sold her the membership. Now that she wants to cancel, she is being told she is locked into an initial-term commitment and cannot simply cancel--the very issue she raised before signing. Had the cancellation restrictions and realistic distance to a Montana location been accurately explained, she never would have signed up. It certainly appears that securing the membership sale was more important than accurately explaining what my mother was agreeing to. I brought my mom here because I trusted Massage Envy after being a member for more than two years. This experience has changed that. I will now be canceling my membership as well. There is a simple solution: honor what your employee represented to my mother and cancel her membership. If you're considering joining, read everything carefully and get every promise about cancellation in writing.

I know none of us here are going to claim to have skin of steel and that everyone is 'sensitive' but my skin is usually very reactive to waxing and shaving. I scar easily and heal slowly. I was stunned by how easy Yvonne's Brazilian is and will definitely be coming back for more. Just walking into the spa is immediately disarming. The room is warmly lit without brightness and there are dressings about to make one feel very cozy and off-guard. Another great mark for Yvonne is that she does not rush you to get into the room or get ready. She showed me where the the things I would need were and let me take the time I needed without even being a presence. Also, she recommended a product for me to prevent ingrown hairs or rash as I am prone to them and I have to say I am very happy with it on my second day of using it. Kudos!
