I only feel comfortable writing a review now that Susan Chadwick has passed away, she was the office manager and a family friend, and a great person.
Anyhow... we used to come here often when I was a child. I LOVED the four-story units with the loft, and always wanted a loft like that "when I grow up." The height of our visiting was around 1990-ish....
....and when my mom and I went back for Christmas 2015, we found that.... it hasn't really been updated since 1990-ish.
The wifi didn't work at first, there's now a noisy Walgreen's getting deliveries back where the golf course used to be... it was so modern back when we'd go back in the day, and it's really fallen apart.
The units were in the process of being remodeled when we went, and they're probably done by now, but what we saw looked very.... dated. Not the 1990 features they had, but not really so much of an upgrade. It actually looked kind of bland, like what you'd see at a church basement.
With that said... I had so many happy memories of Summer Place and that's why they're still getting three stars. I was so happy to go to a place that I loved so much as a kid, and I STILL love the loft! My mom wasn't as thrilled, but, you can't win 'em all and the location is still wonderful.
