What a dump. A band I played in was booked to play there with the owner saying that the name of…read morethe place was Woody's Tavern. When we showed up, we saw the true name of the bar and were beyond shocked. Two of us are Native Americans and we didn't even want to go inside when we saw the true name of the dive. But we had driven over an hour to get there and decided to overlook our discomfort with the name and played anyway. During one set, an older man who was dancing dropped like a hammer, flat on his face right on the dance floor. He didn't move for many minutes and looked absolutely dead. We stopped playing at that point and asked the bartender if we should call 911 but she was adamant that he would be OK and that we should leave things be. Eventually, the man was dragged off the floor and regained consciousness, although he seemed very dazed. This joint should be closed on the basis of the name alone. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

While trying a number of other great eating spots there (Little Italy, The Place, Phillips Diner, etc), we never tried Vinn's Tavern, although we always used to drive by it. Finally this past week we gave it a try and were most impressed! Like many small town diners/taverns in New York state, Vinn's is a local watering hole with great comfort food. I was delighted with the chicken and biscuits on mashed potatoes and gravy. My wife had a most tasty ham sandwich with fries that were delightfully crunchy on the outside but wonderfully soft on the inside....probably the best we ever ate. The staff were friendly and attentive, and even provided us with a free pass for the bridge fare on the way back to Canada. Other customers recommended the wings and onion rings, which we will definitely try on our next trip there. All in all, a great little place with wonderful comfort food. Sorry we took so long to discover it!

Let's just say it's not a dining enthusiasts dream. BUT The Place was good! We sat outside on their back patio. There was one server holding down the entire place. We didn't find service too slow, however. Our server was a doll - super sweet and engaging when she really didn't have to be due to how busy she was. Their cheese curds with the raspberry jalapeño dipping sauce were to die for. They also make a homemade ranch that was delish! The Alfredo pasta was the only thing we had that wasn't great. My husband had a buffalo chicken wrap - he did say the buffalo sauce had a sweet taste and wasn't that spicy. I love that the bar serves popcorn - great diversion for our 2 young kiddos who loved having something to munch on while we waited. So glad we found this place.

The tables are inviting, set with glass ware and white square dishes at each place setting. We've been to Renegadz in Prescott twice now, once for brunch and the other for dinner. Brunch was good, but this is a dinner place, dinner was even better. I guess the place gives a better dinner vibe although food was good both times. For dinner, hubby and me ordered steaks, but I got a baked potato and hubby got wedgie potatoes. Comes with Al dente vegetables. Really good! But one of our friends ordered fish, and it looked amazing! I could hardly believe the size of the piece he got! He took half home for lunch the next day. He said it was delicious. His wife ordered fettuccine Alfredo, and it was good - she finished all of it. And we ordered deserts. Three of us requested turtles cheesecake, but hubby ordered a chocolate cake. THAT was also amazing! Four layers of huge, tasty, moist chocolate cake!! He took a portion home. The meal and the service delicious. And the service was good too. We will be back.
