When we showed up, we saw the true name of the bar and were beyond shocked. Two of us are Native Americans and we didn't even want to go inside when we saw the true name of the dive. But we had driven over an hour to get there and decided to overlook our discomfort with the name and played anyway. During one set, an older man who was dancing dropped like a hammer, flat on his face right on the dance floor. He didn't move for many minutes and looked absolutely dead. We stopped playing at that point and asked the bartender if we should call 911 but she was adamant that he would be OK and that we should leave things be. Eventually, the man was dragged off the floor and regained consciousness, although he seemed very dazed. This joint should be closed on the basis of the name alone. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

While trying a number of other great eating spots there (Little Italy, The Place, Phillips Diner, etc), we never tried Vinn's Tavern, although we always used to drive by it. Finally this past week we gave it a try and were most impressed! Like many small town diners/taverns in New York state, Vinn's is a local watering hole with great comfort food. I was delighted with the chicken and biscuits on mashed potatoes and gravy. My wife had a most tasty ham sandwich with fries that were delightfully crunchy on the outside but wonderfully soft on the inside....probably the best we ever ate. The staff were friendly and attentive, and even provided us with a free pass for the bridge fare on the way back to Canada. Other customers recommended the wings and onion rings, which we will definitely try on our next trip there. All in all, a great little place with wonderful comfort food. Sorry we took so long to discover it!

Another Owner is more concerned with his high end restaurant in A-Bay to be bothered to deal with this place.
