This is a pretty cool spot. A very unique location and solid menu. It feels like a big cozy dining room; I've eaten at a lot of Adirondack family restaurants and this had that vibe. Great pricing and service is solid. Didn't sit at the bar but it looks like a nice spot to down a few while watching a game! As a traveler coming off a long trip this was a welcome shake up from the usual options.

This is my first review and not sure how hard I should grade. So here goes. I am giving it 3 stars. I will probably not give out many 5 star reviews unless really blown away. The atmosphere is very much what I anticipated for an old train station. They had model train tracks over head with what I assume are working model trains that just weren't on. So cool decor overall. The wait staff was friendly and let me sit where I wanted for lunch. Came over and wiped down the table I chose that another must have just departed from. My waitress was prompt and checked with the right frequency. Asked for her thoughts on the if the cheeseburger salad was any good. She felt that was a better choice than the BLT salad I was debating over. The menu is American fair and a good variety. This was the part that lowered the score to 3 for me was the wait for my food. It took a little long for it to come out. There were not a lot of people in there that I could see but they may have been seated elsewhere. The salad came as advertised ground beef cheddar real bacon(I asked to make sure they weren't bacon bits) lettuce tomato and onion. Waitress suggested thousand Island dressing so I went with it. I would eat this again it was just what I wanted. Very tasty. If you want a fancy place this is not it but good food while having a beer this is probably a good choice. I would and probably will come again.

The atmosphere at the Freight House is great - an old train station converted into a restaurant is always a welcome sign. The food on the other hand was...not as great. Our 2 year old daughter liked this place for two reasons: a) they have model trains clanking around the restaurant above your heads throughout your meal (pretty cool) and b) there was a massive wedding in their banquet/dining hall that had all attendees of the wedding coming to the bar to order drinks all night, which proved for great people watching. Perhaps that's why the food didn't impress us - they were busy w/ the 100+ guests in the other room. Regardless, I probably won't go back unless it is for a burger or something else cheap. I ordered what was supposedly the house speciality - the Ribeye (pictured), which was extremely fatty and with hardly any flavor. The dinner came with rolls (frozen/instant w/ cold butter in packets) and a salad w/ no spring greens (just iceberg and the dressing - a balsamic vinegarette was JUST balsamic vinegar - NO oil...very gross). The saving grace of the meal was the "rocky mountain potatoes", which were whipped w/ butter and herbs. Very tasty. Could have eaten an entire plate of those. My wife got Chicken Parmigiana, which was okay, but basically deep fried chicken w/ sauce and overcooked spaghetti. I'd say that if you are looking for a place to have a drink w/ great atmosphere, and possibly get some bar food (burgers, fried stuff, etc) this might be one of the best choices in Ogdensburg. The banquet hall also looked pretty cool (an old, long freight storage warehouse), so I could see it being a great place for parties/weddings as well.

There's a stage in one section and they regularly offer music. And there's a bar section, so you can come in just for drinks. The tables are inviting, set with glass ware and white square dishes at each place setting. We've been to Renegadz in Prescott twice now, once for brunch and the other for dinner. Brunch was good, but this is a dinner place, dinner was even better. I guess the place gives a better dinner vibe although food was good both times. For dinner, hubby and me ordered steaks, but I got a baked potato and hubby got wedgie potatoes. Comes with Al dente vegetables. Really good! But one of our friends ordered fish, and it looked amazing! I could hardly believe the size of the piece he got! He took half home for lunch the next day. He said it was delicious. His wife ordered fettuccine Alfredo, and it was good - she finished all of it. And we ordered deserts. Three of us requested turtles cheesecake, but hubby ordered a chocolate cake. THAT was also amazing! Four layers of huge, tasty, moist chocolate cake!! He took a portion home. The meal and the service delicious. And the service was good too. We will be back.

We scoped out a few places and landed here for a change from the typical pub vibe, Italian pasta joints around the corner, or chains like Jack Astor's. We beat the lunch crowd, arriving just before 2 PM. Service was great--we were seated immediately and ordered a few tapas: some roasted Brussels sprouts and a selection of meat options including Persian BBQ lamb, achiote grilled chicken, and sticky pork ribs. The chicken was my least favorite, though it wasn't bad. Everything else was absolutely delicious and flavorful. I'd really like to come back another time for proper drinks--they have an impressive wine list and a nice selection of sangrias that caught my eye. Definitely worth a return visit if you're passing through Kingston.

They have a private party room downstairs which is also where the restrooms are located so the restaurant isn't really accessible. They recommend 3-4 dishes per person. This can be expensive as most dishes are in the 20 dollar range. The steak with chimichurri sauce was excellent!!! But was also $44.00 for about 13 small slices. We also ordered a Thai green curry cod that comes with cashews infused in the sauce. We had a nut allergy at the table so they were able to remove the cashews to make the dish nut free. Service was decent but this is a dining environment where you are not rushed out the door. Dishes come out sporadically so you are meant for slow dining. This is a good place to celebrate a special occasion or if you just want something different while in Kingston.

The restaurant wasn't crowded, but there were enough guests to give it a nice atmosphere. It felt comfortable, relaxed, and not noisy at all. My older child had the Labrador and finished the entire pizza by himself, while my younger child ordered the Authentic with pepperoni and really enjoyed it.
