Unfortunately, a lot of the older homes in Phoenix do not have a garages. Jake came over the next day, after I called, and walked me through the process. At this time I wasn't really interested in this as my main concern was price. In todays day and age, this is the biggest driving factor. We walked through layout and dimensions, same as I did with the other four General contractors (one wasn't licensed) to make sure the bids were apples to apples. A few days later he provided a proposal which to my surprise was the most reasonable. We worked through a schedule and I was more than excited to get started (more so my wife than I). Wow, what can I say, he not only beat his own schedule but did an excellent job. I am a carpenter by trade and the quality of work in both carpentry and workmanship provided, exceeded what I have seen here in the valley. Long story short I ended up having him provide a bid for my bathroom remodel, which I did the demo myself to try to save some money. All I can say is thank you Jake, your customer service and quality of work was exceptional. If you need something done around your house construction wise, reach out to Coker construction, you won't be disappointed.

Beginning with the detailed quote, he outlined the project in a way that clearly stated labor and material for each item. This was helpful to keep on budget with any changes or upgrades desired. Communication throughout the project was great by daily text messages, phone calls, and meeting in person to ensure clarity. Coker Construction is a family-owned business that is truly "hands on" throughout the entire process. They take pride in their work and the results definitely reflect it. I would recommend them to anyone that wants skilled workmanship at a fair price and I look forward to working with them on future projects!

I was fortunate because I knew someone who worked in the flood and fire industry. I called my friend and within minutes Ted from Silverton Restoration got a hold of me. In less than an hour he had a crew at my house removing the water, carpet and drywall. By the end of the day our home was full of their dehumidifying machines and things were getting dried out. After everything that was damaged was removed from our home and things were dry Ted was also our contractor for all of the restoration, upgrades and repairs. Working with Ted was a great experience and he always answered or returned my calls in a timely manner. When your life is turned upside down from a fire or flood having someone that is transparent about the process and effectively communicating with you is huge. Having one point of contact for not only the dry out but also the restoration was invaluable. I was fortunate that when our home flooded I knew of someone to call for help. My friend's connection to Ted of Silverton Restoration was a life saver. And if I ever find myself in this kind of situation in the future I know exactly who to call. I had a friend in this industry and now you do to.

When looking at the finished prodcut, the paint that was used was completely different than what we requested. Steven used Eggshell instead of flat which made the rooms look patchy and the overall look looks very unprofessional. I've got a rather complicated project regarding logistics and timing (not skill once work can begin) that has made things difficult. When I first contacted this guy, we set up a date to meet and discuss the project. He no-showed. No phone call or anything. Eventually we met and he explained the lack of communication on his end. I get it. Things happen. Because of other cogs in this wheel, I wasn't able to get him to do the work right away. Now that I'm nearing the point where I can bring in a pro, I contacted him again. I needed cabinets painted and likely a back splash installed. He asked for pictures and a description of what needed to be done. I sent him the pictures and description through Yelp. I was rather surprised when he said that he didn't need an appointment to get me a quote but I thought I'd go with it because I just needed a VERY rough range to facilitate planning. A range of $5000 would've been acceptable. Instead I got told I have "major issues" and he felt "sorry for the poor sap that I hire". Screen shots of the conversation are attached so judge for yourself what kind of person this is. First he no-showed and then insulted me for asking questions. Granted, after reading through our conversation I did see that he asked me to call him and I didn't because I skimmed over that part. My apologies. If he had just asked me again to call him I would've done so.

Our work with Elvis started at the end of a major rewire. We had a basement that needed sheetrock around a large existing room as well as some new framing. Elvis' estimate was fair and reasonable: he clearly knew how to think about the work, to see around corners I couldn't see around, and I was confident in hiring him that he would do a good job. It wasn't until he started working that I realized how much I'd underestimated both the project's complexity and Elvis' skills. Turns out a lot of the framing was out of level. That the wire runs had created many complicated issues. And that some of the things we had only partly thought through would take a lot more time and effort than we'd thought. Other contractors might have handled these challenges differently, but Elvis approach was completely unselfish and focused on the best outcome for the project. He took every challenge as an opportunity to make things better. Turns out, he's also an excellent carpenter, so that entailed everything from making beautiful built-in work surfaces to finding ways to incorporate the huge redwood beams in our ceilings and walls into the finished work. He even suggested and implemented a lovely stucco finish over the perfectly-installed sheetrock to bring things together. The result is that what started as a serviceable basement is now a lovely cellar. What's important about that, beyond the craftsmanship, is that the outcomes are really all due to Elvis' great eye and his patient, thoughtful work. Elvis is a master craftsman. I can't recommend him highly enough. And we'll always be thankful to him for his lovely work.

We had work done in all rooms including the addition of an Arizona Room , but for us it was a sewing room. Did it matter what the room was for? Yes in this instance it did, because I needed an excessive amount of light. They did a magnificent job, you couldn't even tell that the room was added on. They built the gazebo we had and they added a small putting green for the beginner golfers in us. They added new closet doors on our new closets. They did various electrical work in the house. Very frustrating experience. I would not use this contractor again…read more I signed a contract for a repair job for about $1,350. After the contract was already signed, the contractor returned with a subcontractor, looked at the house again, and then sent a new estimate for roughly $1,300 more, nearly doubling the original price. Because the price changed so much after the agreement, I decided not to move forward. No actual repair work was done on the house, but I was still charged $300 to cancel the contract after what was basically a short walkthrough visit. I understand that construction projects can uncover additional issues, but I did not expect the cost to increase that much after signing, and I definitely did not expect to be charged a cancellation fee when no work had been performed. In my opinion, the process felt very one-sided and not customer friendly. I recommend that anyone considering this company read the contract very carefully, especially the cancellation terms and how change orders are handled, before signing anything.
