We stayed 4 nights. On night one, we noticed bugs in the room and dead bugs in the window tract. Spoke with the woman in charge, she immediately came to check it out and cleaned it right away. On night 2, we found out the bugs were stink bugs and seasonal from corn cropping. No problem. I get that. Just not in the room. On night 2, I found one in my bed, I went downstairs and spoke to the man in charge, he said we can either switch rooms or check out, I proceeded to tell him my family doesn't have extra space and if the bugs come in through the window and when doors are opened, what would be the difference in changing rooms. After all of that, I asked if we could be comped one night of stay, the guy and the woman both said no and that we could change rooms or check out. By far the west experience I've ever had at any motel.

Just how it worked out. Upon check-in, I was met with a friendly staff member who made the process quick and easy. This hotel does not have an elevator. If you are not handicapped but do not do well with stairs, let the hotel know at check in or booking and I'm sure they can accommodate you with a room on the first floor. My room was in good condition. The first thing I noticed, however, was how hot and humid my room was. The A/C cooled the room to a comfortable temperature within a half an hour. I wish they'd keep the A/C on at least a little bit - it usually takes more energy to cool a room completely than to keep it a reasonable temperature. There was water all over the bathroom caused by the humidity. Room ameneties included a microwave and mini fridge, which is great for a basic room. For toiletries, I was given one bar of soap and one bottle of shampoo. Didn't like that. What are we supposed to shower with if one is for washing our hands? Bed linens were bright white. The bed was hard and not very comfortable. Have you ever flushed a toilet on an airplane? That's how fast these toilets flush. Fair warning. Prepare Uranus. Another fair warning: if you're here and plan to get it on, the walls are very thin. My neighbors kept me up by laughing and making rooster noises at 10pm for some reason. Like, literally "COCK-A-DOODLE-DOO!!!!" Ignoring the excessive poultry enthusiasts next door, I was convinced I could probably hear a gnat fart on the other side of the paper thin wall. Coughing, sneezing, you can hear it all. I'll be honest with you, the Sullivan area sucks. There's a Burger King, McDonald's, Hardee's, and Walmart within the immediate vicinity, but that's pretty much it. You'll have to travel 25 minutes to even get to a Taco Bell, so get in the mindset of thinking inside the bun. If you want entertainment, head across the street and watch the locals at Walmart. Good stuff there. (This section did not factor into my star rating as Days Inn has no control over the local area) Breakfast was decent Coffee, OJ, muffins, yogurt, and cereal is what I saw. Only had some coffee though, but everything looked good. On Day 2, the check-in staff member was a little less friendly, but that's ok. If for some unfortunate reason I have to visit the Sullivan area again, I'd stay here again. Not that I have a choice, it's all Sullivan has to offer in terms of accommodations. No major complaints, just minor inconveniences. French Lick Springs Hotel somehow manages to feel both grand and incredibly relaxing. Everywhere you turn there's another detail worth appreciating--from the breathtaking domed atrium and historic architecture to the beautifully maintained grounds that practically beg you to take a leisurely stroll. The wraparound porch quickly became one of our favorite places. We spent a ridiculous amount of time rocking in the chairs, enjoying the gorgeous weather and taking in the peaceful views. It felt like stepping back to a time when people weren't in such a hurry. One thing I didn't expect was how convenient it was to explore the area. The complimentary shuttle was fantastic. We rode over to the casino resort, spent hours walking the grounds and exploring the restaurants, and on the way back the driver even dropped a few guests off at CVS and simply told them to call when they were ready for pickup. It's little touches like that that make you feel genuinely taken care of. Our room service breakfast was another highlight. Everything arrived hot and beautifully presented, from the biscuits and gravy to the fresh fruit oatmeal and perfectly cooked breakfast. Starting the morning with breakfast by the window overlooking those incredible grounds was hard to beat. The hotel itself has so many little spaces to discover. We wandered through the historic bathhouse, found a billiards room tucked away, admired the architecture, and never once felt rushed to get back to our room. Every hallway seemed to tell another piece of the hotel's history. And yes... The robes absolutely deserve their own paragraph. They're still some of the most comfortable hotel robes I've ever worn, and I'm standing by my original statement--you won't want to take them off. French Lick is one of those rare places where the destination and the hotel are equally memorable. We left already talking about coming back during another season just to experience it all again. Sultans run is one of the coolest courses I've ever seen and everyone at that course was super friendly and made for a great experience. Even when we were running couple minutes behind, the starter gave us great vibes. It's definitely worth the extra 30 minutes to go there rather than Donald Ross. Second, Phil at the links course was outstanding and was someone who wanted to make sure our experience was great. Curious to see what the course will look like once the renovations end. The disappointments start with the lackluster effort. Besides Phil, nobody seemed to want to make our experience stand out. Just the smallest thing would've been appreciated and I even asked if anything extra could do for the bachelor and I was met with nothing. The person who I talked to (will refrain from naming him) did great at helping me plan everything but failed to mention that when you get a group package that it's not really at a discount rate. I'm not kidding you there is literally no discount so it's basically false advertising saying you get a group rate. I was basically being told I needed to do a group package (now I know it was just to make things easier for him and didn't benefit us at all) One late add on even found his room cheaper online than for what we got. If I hadn't done my research, multiple people would have paid double their price because they were unable to play the most expensive course yet would've been charged as if they had played. This brings me to the second part where Pete dye course is very cool but the price you pay plus caddy fee and tip is outrageous. There is no reason anyone should be paying over $500 for a round for that course in middle of nowhere. Instead they are giving u a crappy whiskey and some glasses in a nice box to try and put a bow on being way overpriced. It's a great course but it is ridiculously over priced. Lastly the food within the resort is very ok and also overpriced. If you go across the street you get way better food at the steakhouse and the sports bar and a better environment. Nothing special about the Casino either. It's pretty small and has a small bar too

No one was around, the breakfast set up was strange: empty and sparse. Dont show up hungry. Additionally there was no coffee. I should add I went to breakfast at 7 am - dead center of the breakfast hour. There are plenty of services around the hotel that travelers need - gas, food etc... This is the best choice in the area - but the off-season price (mid September) was $100. I could have stayed at a Hampton for that rate. I will say this its far better to stay here than in Terra Huate

Country View Inn…read more When looking for a decent hotel in Robinson, the choices are fairly limited. However, upon recommendations from a co-worker, I decided to give the Country View Inn a try. My standard king room was good, with a comfy bed and nice-sized bathroom/tub/shower. Breakfast was provided every morning downstairs, including a good assortment of hot food, including eggs, biscuits, sausage gravy, along with bacon or sausage. The staff was always very pleasant, friendly, and helpful. The price was an excellent value for the money.

West Baden has now become a regular family destination. My family -- plus my mom, stepdad, siblings…read moreand their families -- just finished our second trip here. And it's safe to say that West Baden is now a family tradition. My parents spent a few days there to celebrate their anniversary, and then the kids all came to stay the last night, during Easter weekend. And we made the most of it. We started with bowling and pizza at the new Ballard's at the Atrium (see my review on that). My older niece then watched all the kids in one of the hotel rooms, while the adults got a drink in the expansive atrium and enjoyed looking up at the picturesque dome ceiling. The next morning, which was Easter, we found a quiet sitting area on our floor to have an Easter egg hunt with all the kids. These are memories we will cherish. We popped over to French Lick for brunch, though the Easter brunch set up in the atrium definitely looked delicious too. The staff is always excellent. We were able to call and get all of our rooms next to each other, which helped. Thanks for another fabulous mini-vacation, West Baden!

We had a two bedroom suite which was the perfect size for the four of us. It had two balconies overlooking the atrium which I will never, ever book again. Too loud! All night long too loud! Even from the sixth floor, even with earplugs. Only exterior view next time for a stay. I would return next year for all of the holiday events. My kids loved this trip because of all the new experiences they had. Lots of things to do in the area that get you outdoors. Lovely part of Indiana in the Autumn (when we visited).

I was able to stay overnight on Thursday, 12/29 and was so pleased to see a light show when driving in. In addition, the lobby was decorated for Christmas and every need was met between a soft, comfortable bed to sleep in along with the availability of drinks and snacks. There was an electric fireplace to add to the ambiance and a really nicely done bathroom. I couldn't have found a better place to stay in the area near Goose Pond.

Just a short drive up Route 1 from I-70 it is well worth the drive. I say here because of nearby family so Paris is kind of like home. I stay in Hampton Inns all over the Southeast and this on is by far my favorite. The staff both times were extremely friendly and helpful and breakfast was very good. Our room was exceptional and very quiet as the main road out front is not exactly a major travel route. Whenever I am in the area this will alway be my "go-to" place.
