Dr. Lybrand kept us well informed from the consult appointment all the way through completion of the surgery and post-operative care. She is very bright, energetic and has an excellent chair side manner. I felt like we put our "little man "in the best of hands. The procedure went smoothly and quickly. Dr. Walk did a great job with the sedation for the procedure. Any and all questions we had about how the procedure went were answered afterwards. You can tell she loves what she does and she's very good at it! The offices here are modern, well-appointed and comfortable; they don't feel like a typical doctor's office at all! The staffs at both offices are not only informative and helpful, but also genuinely friendly. Dr. Lybrand is an impressive oral surgeon and I highly recommend her!!! She works at both the Mint Hill and Monroe offices - that's why I've posted this on both listings!

They were able to see me the same day as I was having an emergency. When I arrived the staff was not only professional but very nice and welcoming. Which I feel important for such a dreaded procedure (root canal). And believe it or not the best part about my visit was the Dr. and procedure. He was absolutely awesome. I mean so awesome that I wouldn't mind having another root canal. Ok maybe I don't really want another but I would drive from the other side of NC to go to this guy. Like I said before I had a bad infection and they got me in same day; however, once he began the procedure he was mostly concerned with how I was doing and if I felt ANYTHING! He didn't want me to be in any pain. Zero. So given that my tooth was so bad he wanted me to come back to finish and let my antibiotics do some more work in the meantime. Didn't charge me extra and didn't rush anything. This guy is a perfectionist and if you want your mouth taken care or properly then there is no where else to go. I have to say the root canal experience everyone warns you about was actually as enjoyable as a root canal could possibly be. I would give this practice 20 stars if possible.

Dr. Kisella stands out with on-line reviews, has no record on the NC State Board of Dental Examiners site (though I found other dentists with records), and if one looks at the Kisella dental facility website, one can read about the Dr's educational background--a smarty pants with lots of energy. Perhaps best of all, I checked with families that I know and a social media moms group and got good past patient stories. Now, if you want a boutique facility, this isn't your place. Honestly, I think this is better though. It's a small, clean, cheery facility with fresh coffee, and an attentive, responsive and well-trained staff. You don't get the feeling that they will try to add unneeded procedures or cover-up problems if they do occur. This feels like a straight shooting place. The "informed consent" about possible problems, pain, and what to expect was thorough. Dr. Kisella didn't get irritated when we asked lots of questions. He called us at home after surgery & did a 1 week follow-up, again kindly answering questions. My son's mouth bled a good bit after surgery, but the gauze, directions and guidance helped us through this phase. My son was also quite sore for several days after his wisdom teeth were removed, but because the informed consent process was thorough, he knew exactly how to use his icepacks, medications, and he drank lost of fluids and soups. He had a good sense of what the pain would be like, how to treat it, when it would get better and how to connect with the office if help was necessary. Today was his one week checkup, and the top wisdom teeth removal spots healed perfectly. The bottom two wisdom teeth removal spots still have holes but are healing. My son was given a mirror and small device to spray in these holes to clean out any debris. The holes should heal in time. My teen opted for gas and shots, but he could have been put to sleep too, though our insurance wouldn't have paid for this. While I give Kisella Surgery Center 5 stars, I've had frustration with Delta Dental and BCBS when trying to get information from them directly. In fact, I called my senator's office to complain about insurance problems and learned that there are so many complaints in NC that if one files a complaint, it won't be viewed for 3 months! In the end, my family didn't run into billing problems, but insurance companies seem like they can be challenging, not the fault of Kisella's office. In fact, Amy Kisella, in billing, worked hard to help my with a few tricky things.All the best to others, wishing you a quick road to recovery, wherever you go!

Throughout the appt booking process, I'm positive I talked to the front desk at this location (not just call center), and that's how this appt was rescheduled. But after I arrived at the location for the 9AM appt, the assistant didn't take me in until 9:20, and when I told them my x-ray was already taken at another clinic 6 months ago, their "patient care coordinator" Tiana Fully told me their DMO plan is at capacity and they won't be able to take me. She couldn't show me the evidence that they're "at capacity" and she didn't call the insurance company to confirm that before she told me they're "at capacity". I think she simply wielded her "power" and denied insurance when this is something that they should have told me before I booked the appt. This appt was booked since last week. See attached email screenshot as one of the email confirmations of the appt sent to me around 4/23. The front desk ladies and doctor Martin who left a voicemail on my phone asking me to come in early today all seemed nice. Tiana Fully is to blame for this whole process, the disconnect and the chaotic system this location has. I'll also file BBB complaint against this location.
