No one explained anything, communication was minimal, and the overall attitude felt dismissive and unprofessional. Staff were having loud personal conversations outside my room, which made the environment uncomfortable. There was also zero follow-up. I was told to schedule after insurance processed, but no one ever reached out or provided clear next steps. The entire experience felt disorganized and unwelcoming. They both had 20+ years experience in that office. On my latest visit, one of them checked my insurance coverage to see what exams I could get. Dr. Patel is young-ish and very friendly as well. I called the after hours number and left a message and within three minutes Dr. Millard called me back. I explained what happened and she told me to come in at 8am the next morning, they are closed on Fridays but will come in for this type of stuff and I'm so thankful. Everything went well the extraction, and an additional procedure I wasn't expecting. They were not only professional but also very concerned about my comfort. They both checked on me several times during all of this and Dr. Millard called that evening to ask how I was doing. I've never been cared for this much by a Dentist and you can tell this is really one of Dr. Millard's passions. I have had nothing but positive experiences with Plaza Midwood Dentistry and Dr. Hart, hygienists/techs like Weslynn, as well as their front office. I came in looking like a gremlin honestly, my teeth were in terrible shape. They worked out a plan to focus on the cavities first, then crowns and implants, but I wasn't expecting the huge difference, even with the temporary cosmetic stuff they did (I'm not a dentist so I don't know the right name for it). After my last appointment, I cried when I looked in the mirror and asked for a hug. Went home and cried some more because I was so happy. Sent pictures to my best friends and family. People who see me and know me comment on my smile all the time. They are some of the most caring and understanding people in the business. I've been to many dentists and oral surgeons after my childhood dentist retired. These folks are by far my favorite. We still have a ways to go to get all the work done, but I will always be so appreciative of how hard they work and how well they do it.
