He asked me what I needed and I had a properly sized suit on me in less than a minute. And when I asked for options, he gave me them promptly and with a smile. During a recent visit to SuitMart - Missouri City with my two sons, we had high hopes of finding suits for my parents' upcoming 50th wedding renewal. Unfortunately, what was supposed to be a fun and enjoyable experience turned out to be quite negative. The initial salesperson who attended us displayed remarkable dedication and enthusiasm, despite being new. However, our experience took an unfortunate turn when a more senior associate intervened, unintentionally subjecting our salesperson to embarrassment through his training methods, while shaming us for how we were dressed. What deeply troubled me was the senior associate's treatment of my two teenage sons and me, solely based on our choice of dress - cargo shorts, T-shirts, and Croc sandals. As soon as he noticed our Crocs, he promptly corrected us, asserting that such shoes were unsuitable for trying on clothing. His tone was serious and unwelcoming, without any hint of sarcasm. It is important to note that my son is on the autism spectrum and prefers to wear Crocs for comfort. I, too, wore them to support his choice of footwear and demonstrate acceptance. The encounter left a bitter taste in my mouth, especially considering his unnecessary criticism of what were his words "my generation" not having to dress, assuming I have no experience wearing a suit. Never judge a book by its cover. I have a PhD and I have spent many years working in academia, and lastly for the record, I am quite versed on how to dress. In addition to the judgmental and discriminatory behavior, the senior associate's attitude during the sizing process was disheartening. He appeared curt and visibly annoyed, further contributing to the already hostile atmosphere. As customers, we expect to be treated with respect and courtesy, regardless of our attire or the associate's personal preferences. Unfortunately, the situation escalated to the point where my wife, sensing our discomfort and feeling the need to protect our son from further distress, decided to intervene and settle the bill, allowing us to leave the store early. I initially chose SuitMart based on the glowing recommendations from my parents, who had previously praised the store's service. However, after this distressing incident, I have no intention of returning. It is important for potential shoppers to be aware of the possibility of encountering such judgmental behaviors during their visit to SuitMart - Missouri City. To avoid unnecessary confrontations, I recommend prospective customers come prepared with a clear idea of what they want to purchase and come dressed in the type of clothing they sell. Or like me moving forward, shop at Mens Warehouse. In conclusion, our overall experience at SuitMart - Missouri City was deeply disappointing due to the discriminatory and judgmental behavior exhibited by one of the senior associates. I sincerely hope that this review serves as constructive feedback for the store's management, urging them to promptly address and rectify such incidents. I went here looking for a suit for my son for pictures. These ppl have absolutely no customer service skills whatsoever. The older African American lady in there is very rude. The guy that was helping us was called multiple times to check different out at the register, when asked why was he being called when they didn't have customers, we were told he was the only cashier.
