I am extremely disappointed with Sugaring New York Waxing Center. This morning, I booked an appointment and canceled it literally two minutes later due to an unexpected scheduling conflict. Two minutes. Not hours. Not the same day. Two minutes after booking. Despite this, they charged me 50% of the service cost -- $80 -- to my credit card. When I made the reservation, I was told the card was required to hold the appointment and would not be charged unless there was a no show. When I called immediately to cancel, no one informed me that I would be charged a penalty. I only discovered the charge afterward. As a regular client, this feels particularly disappointing. There was no time lost, no technician assigned and waiting, no operational impact -- yet they still processed the charge. Policies are one thing. Basic fairness and discretion are another. Charging a loyal customer $80 for canceling within two minutes of booking is unreasonable and frankly predatory. I will not be returning. read more

Had a great experience with my sugarista Georgette a few days ago. Few small hiccups with the appointment start were quickly explained and remedied. The space is very clean, cute, + I loved the music playing! Georgette was super sweet, informative, efficient. There are so many things i have to say right now. The sugaring appointment was fine. Everything else was the problem. The front desk lady was rude and unwelcoming. She wasn't wearing a mask, kept sneezing, and was clearly ill, after literally handing me a mask to wear..... Much like mean girls in high school, her and two other employees congregated at the front as i questioned the validity of their 50% off sale for first time Brazilian sugaring customers. She rudely informed me that it was for first time customers in GENERAL, when the FIRST time i came in (literally last week) and received a free underarm wax the lady working at the register said otherwise. Not to mention I called to confirm this as well with a new employee and she held firm that there was no information in my account about this... okay i'll pay full price i guess, I stated this and one of the girls behind her literally snorted and walked away. If you don't want to work here please get another job and don't make people's lives unpleasant. I ignored her because i'm an adult. Anyways, I arrived at 6:38pm for my 7pm appointment and no one was available until 7:30. What was the point in even scheduling an appointment.
