She is hands down one of the sweetest, most professional aestheticians I've ever met, and her technique? Elite. The way she applies the sugar is so precise and intentional that it genuinely makes a huge difference with pain. What really sets her apart is how comfortable and confident she makes you feel. She knows exactly what she's doing, especially if you're curvier, she navigates every nook and cranny like a true expert (IYKYK). On top of that, she creates such a safe, warm, and welcoming space. You walk in a little nervous and leave feeling smooth, confident, and taken care of. I recommend her a million times over. Your skin (and your sanity) will thank you. read more

After 2 years of using their services, I balked at being "forced" to pay 20% tip each time because the esthetician told me it was the norm. Ok. I did that for 2 years. One session Cameron missed not 1, not 2, not 3 but FOUR areas that she was paid to sugar. They weren't even small areas. They were long rows down my left arm, down my left leg, an area around my right knee and a patch on my left hand. Each time I noticed I had to get the tweezers out to rectify. it took me about 15 minutes each for the arm and leg hairs. a few minutes for the hand and I did not even bother with the knee. So the time after I gave no tip. Cameron started bawling in front of me at losing the tip. Nice! Do your job properly lady. After 2 years my growth is sparse and thin and gets done in half the time allocated. Whilst I appreciate that, I end up paying $hundreds for a 60 minute job. Plus I'm supposed to pay a 20% tip on top? That seems excessive to me. When 5 weeks later and ready to book my next session, I asked the owner Renata about it, and could I please pay a 10% tip because it takes about half or less than the time allocated and she replied "tipping is always completely at your discretion, and we would never want you to feel obligated to pay a certain amount." Then only after I said I would only pay a 10% tip, Renata said her aesthetician Cameron did not feel comfortable with serving me and they could no longer offer their services to me. When I asked what behavior I had engaged in that suddenly made her feel uncomfortable, they did not reply. So much for "tipping is always completely at your discretion." The reason I told her I was switching to a 10% tip and basically asking permission, was because I did not want Cameron bawling because of the tip. Instead they refused my business after 2 years because obviously paying $hundreds each month and a 10% tip on top for work done in half the time allocated is not enough. How unprofessional! How lame is this company and the owner Renata who happily took 20% tips for 2 years but cancelled me when I balked at that. Renata operates a franchise and pays her employees $15 per hour. Who can live off of $15 per hour? They expect customers to pay their employees' salaries whilst sucking up $hundreds per hour. When you receive $hundreds of dollars for a 60 minute service and pay your own staff $15 an hour, that is exploitation. Nothing less. I already found me an independent provider. Support the local community! Get your services from independents not franchises who expect you to pay for their staff. At this time, Renata has already deducted $100 of my monthly membership and has not confirmed the refund due. Nor has she confirmed that they have stopped the recurring payment. I do hope Renata is professional and honest enough to do the right things on that. They happily took my money monthly for 2 years, then cancelled me without a care. And I can say with confidence, she has provided the most painless and thorough service of all the technicians I've worked with. If any of my past people see this, know that I still love you! She knows how to carry a great conversation through the process and gave great i instructions for after-care which I know but it was great to see and hear her follow through. I am extremely disappointed with Sugaring New York Waxing Center. This morning, I booked an appointment and canceled it literally two minutes later due to an unexpected scheduling conflict. Two minutes. Not hours. Not the same day. Two minutes after booking. Despite this, they charged me 50% of the service cost -- $80 -- to my credit card. When I made the reservation, I was told the card was required to hold the appointment and would not be charged unless there was a no show. When I called immediately to cancel, no one informed me that I would be charged a penalty. I only discovered the charge afterward. As a regular client, this feels particularly disappointing. There was no time lost, no technician assigned and waiting, no operational impact -- yet they still processed the charge. Policies are one thing. Basic fairness and discretion are another. Charging a loyal customer $80 for canceling within two minutes of booking is unreasonable and frankly predatory. I will not be returning. read more

I actually got super lost trying to find the location (totally my fault), and despite my confusion, the team was incredibly patient and helpful in guiding me there. That experience alone already made me feel like I was in good hands and once I met Avenna, it just got better. She is so knowledgeable and gentle, but also incredibly warm and easy to talk to. There are so many things i have to say right now. The sugaring appointment was fine. Everything else was the problem. The front desk lady was rude and unwelcoming. She wasn't wearing a mask, kept sneezing, and was clearly ill, after literally handing me a mask to wear..... Much like mean girls in high school, her and two other employees congregated at the front as i questioned the validity of their 50% off sale for first time Brazilian sugaring customers. She rudely informed me that it was for first time customers in GENERAL, when the FIRST time i came in (literally last week) and received a free underarm wax the lady working at the register said otherwise. Not to mention I called to confirm this as well with a new employee and she held firm that there was no information in my account about this... okay i'll pay full price i guess, I stated this and one of the girls behind her literally snorted and walked away.
