I hired Sonam for my wedding. in October 2024 for 3 events: a Sikh wedding, a Hindu wedding, and the reception. Even during the trial she made me look a lot lighter and went heavy on the makeup, but we were able to agree. On the day of the Sikh wedding in October, which was the first event of the 3. She did my makeup and it was HORRIBLE. Nothing like what was done in the trial round. She made me look almost 3 shades lighter than I am. The contouring and highlighting were so bad. During the whole time I kept telling her that I don't think this looks good but she CONTINUOUSLY gaslighted me and DIDN'T listen too single word I was saying. She made me look the worst on one of the most important days. So following the Sikh wedding, I called and fired her for the makeup aspect. While talking to her on the phone, she harassed me and continuously pointed out that I was wrong and I don't understand makeup. The entire phone call was her making me feel about telling her that I didn't like how I looked. She made me cry the weekend of my wedding, events to the point my sister had to take over the phone. At the end of the conversation, we agreed that she would just be doing my hair for the next 2 events and draping my outfit for the reception. She demanded that we pay the full amount for the 3 events (which we were okay with). On the day of the Hindu wedding, she kept harassing my friends who were doing my makeup. She said she needed to leave early and I was wasting her time. She kept trying to make me finish my hair first before my makeup. She tried to put fresh flowers HOURS before the wedding despite me telling her that I want to put those on last, cause they will get ruined. Another example of how she refused to listen to me. Also on the day of the Hindu wedding, she kept harassing my parents for the money for the makeup. I think she was concerned that I would not pay her. BTW she only takes CASH. Following the Hindu wedding, she continued to harass me regarding doing makeup for the reception. She continuously was like Why do you want to end on a sour note with your vendor. She was like I can do the same thing your friends can and possibly better. She followed me around and kept pressuring me to allow her to do it. All in all, this was a horrible experience. She made me look horrible on my wedding day and despite me telling her I am not comfortable, she GASLIGHTED me and didn't listen to a single thing I had to say.

When I initially spoke with Shweta, I expressed my concerns and she immediately made me feel comfortable and understood what I was going for. Shweta was lovely to be around during my wedding weekend in October 2025. She helped me keep calm, and we chatted through the early morning and the many hours in the makeup chair. Even when there were issues with weather impacting our ceremony, she helped me keep positive and her presence was extremely calming and reassuring! I did a trial and Ngan worked with me to ensure I was comfortable with the final look, and it turned out exactly how I wanted--like my normal face, but prettier!
