Came in for a booking with a friend on a Wednesday afternoon after being recommended to this salon…read moreby two other friends. The salon was clean and professional with some ambient jazz in the background. My appointment with Hibiki started with a gentle hair wash before I was brought a small cup of tea and some konpeito to snack on as I showed him the album of reference photos on my phone. We were able to make some pleasant small talk even with the English-Japanese language barrier, and Hibiki was very attentive to making sure my hair was cut and styled in a flattering way that added volume! (I had let him know I struggled with my hair sitting flat) I would definitely come back!! For anyone looking to book here that doesn't speak Japanese, I would advise you make sure you have clear reference photos of the type of cut you want--preferably from multiple angles. Don't be afraid to ask questions, bust out Google Translate, and make gestures for what length you want your hair at!

Viange Hair is a wonderful salon, and master stylist Kaori is truly exceptional…read more Kaori is incredibly skillful and consistently delivers a very stylish, well-balanced haircut. She has a great eye for shape and detail, and every time I leave the salon the cut looks sharp, modern, and easy to maintain. She also takes the time to understand what you're looking for and offers thoughtful suggestions that really work with your hair and style. It's clear she has a lot of experience and takes pride in her craft. If you're looking for a stylist who can give you a clean, stylish cut with great attention to detail, I highly recommend Kaori at Viange Hair.

After living in the Tri-Valley for years, I was always searching for a Korean salon that could give…read moreme a true ashy brown... without the reddish tones I kept getting at more typical salons around here. I finally found one that came closest to what I get done in Korea! My hair is naturally very curly, which I know isn't common for Korean hair and can be harder to work with, but she did a great job. She evened out my previously multi-colored hair into one cohesive color and trimmed my bangs and layers how I like them. More than anything, the salon just feels like home. It's a small mom-and-pop shop, and I already know I'll be coming back regularly. They even have a Korean nail artist there, which is such a big deal for me... I've missed getting my nails done but haven't found anyone meticulous enough yet - so I'll be back soon. I'm so excited to have found a little beauty spot I can call my own!

I visited this salon a few months ago for a hair spa, and it was a really great experience. The…read morehead massage was a bit too strong for me, but overall the process was very good including the face mask and hand massage, and the other hairstylist styled my hair exactly the way I wanted. However, this week I went back for a haircut and had a different experience. Before booking, I specifically asked if the service included a wash and blow-dry styling since the price was lower compared to other professional salons, and she confirmed that it did. Because of that, I skipped washing my hair at home. My scalp tends to get oily quickly, even after two days of washing. At the appointment, she only shampooed the ends of my hair and skipped the roots and scalp. After the cut, she styled just the bangs and lightly blow-dried the rest. She did ask how I wanted my hair and I showed her pictures, saying I preferred it straight, but it was left unfinished. It felt like she was in a hurry. In other salons, they usually spend good time washing and conditioning properly, but here it was done in just a minute. The appointment was scheduled for an hour but was finished in about 20 minutes. The haircut itself was good -- she gave me exactly the type of cut I asked for. However, I was disappointed with the wash and styling part. After leaving the salon, my scalp still felt oily and the roots sticky. In a way, it's good she didn't fully style it as I wanted, because I ended up washing my hair again at home and styling it myself. Overall, great haircut, but the wash and styling experience did not meet expectations this time.

Tiffany and her team did such an incredible job on hair and makeup for my wedding, I would…read moredefinitely recommend her to anyone! To start off, she spent so much time with me for the trial (more than planned), making sure we had a chance to try a couple different things without any rush, which was so helpful. On my actual wedding day I loved everything she did, and my new husband said I looked like a movie star! I liked the trial looks when we did them, and Tiffany genuinely listened and understood what I wanted to tweak. When the big day came and we had the details set from the beginning, everything came out looking even better. She specializes in a natural-but-enhanced look and really nailed it - I didn't feel or look like I was caked in makeup, I just looked like the absolute best version of myself! Trying to find pictures to include here I struggled to find ones that seemed like they were showing off the makeup - but that's kind of the point. The makeup wasn't super showy (exactly as I wanted), it just made me look really great in every picture! And this is from someone who often doesn't like pictures of myself. The other artists she brought for our officiant and moms (both in the pictures I'm including) also did a great job. They handled mature skin, thick/unruly hair, and curls beautifully. I've never seen my mom's shoulder length curly hair look so good! They were also great company all morning, which is so important.

My experience with this makeup artist was extremely disappointing. Throughout the trial session,…read moreshe kept checking her watch, which made me feel rushed. The final result was nothing like what I expected, and I was extremely unsatisfied. When I politely expressed that I didn't like the makeup look, she got visibly frustrated, placing her arm on her waist in an unprofessional manner. Any requests for adjustments were met with reluctance and annoyance. After deciding that I didn't want her to do my makeup but would still proceed with her services for my other family members, she canceled the contract herself. While she's technically not obligated to return the retainer fee, she told me she would -- but never did. That lack of follow-through was very disappointing and unprofessional. Also, be aware that her contract does not allow cancellations due to dissatisfaction within 60 days of your event, so if you're considering a trial, make sure to do it well in advance. I would not recommend her based on this experience.

I almost never write negative reviews, but what happened to my mom at Ming Wong Hair Salon was so…read morebad it has to be said. My mom has always had beautiful hair, and she takes pride in keeping it that way. She walked in with healthy, full hair and walked out looking like someone hacked away at it with no skill or care. The sides were uneven, the so-called layers were a mess, and it looked like a complete botched job. When my mom confronted Ming Wong about it, instead of apologizing, she had the nerve to suggest my mom buy a wig or hair extensions from her salon. She did offer a refund, but this is not about the money. This is about the months, maybe years, it will take for my mom's hair to grow back. She left the salon in tears, and no one should ever have to feel that way after a haircut. Save yourself the pain and go anywhere else.

I rarely write bad reviews, I prefer to keep things positive with the people I work with. However,…read moreMing's behavior is not professional and the last haircut I received from her was a disaster. I had seen her twice before and had reasonable cuts and thought I had found a good stylist. However, the last visit was a nightmare. She ranted on and on about her previous customer who had erupted in a rage because of her haircut. I felt bad for Ming and tried to soothe her. So, what should have been a relaxing day at the salon for me was instead a jarring experience and my cut suffered...big time. When I made the appointment, I had asked for a consultation because I wanted to change my style from a bob to a layered look and I came with photos of what I wanted. She didn't seem too happy about it and, later, I thought she might not have the skill to cut a layered style. She then rushed to finish my cut because her next customer was there. I looked reasonable walking out of the salon but later realized that she barely touched the back, the layers were thinned, not layered and the right side was at least an inch longer than the left. In fact, this was the worst haircut I've ever had. Anyway, time to find a stylist that isn't going to ruin my day and my haircut!
