The Colonel (a big tea aficionado) has been holding board game events there on Saturdays about once a month. I recently had a quick bite of lunch there with a friend. They serve an astonishing number of teas in a variety of cups. Keira will explain everything to tea novices, and you can get single servings, double servings, or a pot. They have white, green, red, black, and herbal teas. Then they have hot grilled cheeses, cold wraps, deli sandwiches, and cookies and brownies for dessert. In addition, they have fun lil tchotchkes for sale, Der Sprossling bought an articulated wooden dragon toy recently for his mantel. Follow them on Facebook to keep abreast of the variety of activities going on, including tarot readings and other New Age events for body and soul. They have off-street parking to the side of the building. It is flat and pretty accessible. They have a bathroom, but I didn't use it, I'm presuming gender neutral/single occupancy because I only saw one door.

In the cafe, there were wrappers and papers on the floor, spilled sugar on a table, and crumbs on the chairs at 2 tables. There was also a tile in the flooring with a good-sized crack. Inside, in the coffee portion of the space, it gives definite coffee shop vibes. Couches, armchairs, tables, books, magazines, etc. That coziness could be a big draw on a cold day. I had myself a chai tea latte from here and it was delicious. They are quick with their ordering process and making of the drink. What else is here you ask? Well, let me tell you. There is an ice cream parlor tucked away on the opposite side of the coffee shop. You can enter this through the coffee shop or from the outside entrance on the side of the building. This area, then leads you to another location on the lot. Putt-Putt. Behind the building, there is a miniature golf course built into the hillside. One that is West Virginian history themed. I stayed in Bluefield and he lives in Princeton, but he met me here since it was on my way to Cherokee. This leg of the trip was to drop off some cash for Mr. Bob. A lot of it. No, not that kind of money. Clean money. Anyway... The staff here is super friendly, the atmosphere fits the area, and the place has some charm. It looks like the prices for the sandwiches are very fair, but I got a bagel, and the price for one bagel is too high. However, this is more of a sandwich and coffee shop; it's not a bagel store. I definitely recommend The Grind. I'm not really a morning person so I don't know what Bob was talking about half the time, but that's just me. Definitely recommended!
