Not an employee in sight. The food and bar always seem to be closed. Can't even find where to purchase their famous doughnuts. They built the huge play area for children which is great! But please don't advertise all your food and drink options if it's never going to be open or an employee around to check you out. Nothing like your toddler melting down because they want a juice and you can't find a way to pay for it. I love the baby animals and all the kids activities but until they figure out how to properly run this place I probably won't come back.

This was actually the first thing we did when we moved to Cincinnati. Quite literally. We pulled…read moreinto the Queen City, saw a billboard advertising that it was happening that day, and decided to check it out. What was a crazy mass of people grabbing for as many chocolate treats as possible has only gotten crazier. Our first visit saw a fighting chance. Now, talking to vendors to learn about them, and their craft is nearly impossible. The stream of people keeps pushing forward, and one gets swept away from the booths. As the event has grow, this has continued to be the case. (All pre COVID, not sure how this will be safely handled in the future.) While we have tried some amazing treats, thus introducing us to some amazing local businesses, it is hard to truly enjoy the experience. Chocolate should be savored. It is hard to do that here. The only exception is the children's play area. This is consistently a ghost town. My children have enjoyed playing the games, gettibg balloons, or whatever else has been offered. The area is kind of like a section of an elementary school carnival.

There were A LOT of different vendors and a lot of chocolaty things to see. I recommend walking through at least once so that you can decide what samples you are most interested in tasting. My only complaint is that the later it gets in the day the more congested the event is. We arrived right when it opened and that was a VERY wise decision. We were kind of crammed together with loads of other pushy people right before we left and that was not ideal. We also upgraded to tickets that included the Bella Luna lounge and wine tasting. This was a great value. Bella Luna provided small bites of (not chocolate) food like pasta and bruchetta. There were 5 wine tastings included in the price and they were very generous pours. I would attend again.

It gets very crowded and in recent years that would scare me away, but the vendors and patrons are very friendly. My only negative is, I wouldn't bring multiple kids that are 5-12 years old, its so crowded keeping track of them would be difficult and I think many kids would be bored. (Maybe your kids are different) The town of Waynesville was so charming, I want to come back to town when the festival isn't going on and check it out.

Lots of bands and marchers and well, lots of great sponsors too. A whole community thing! The street fair is just awesome. There are several bandstands and we've never been disappointed with the music variety and quality of talent! Lots of foodie options for everyone, local and exotic fare. Lots of places to take your stuff, cop a squat and a bit of shade and pig out! Lots of local artisans and plenty of cool arts and crafts to choose from. Food booths were pretty good with a diverse offering. When reading about the festival before actually going to it, it said that vendors must sell some type of popcorn related item however, very few people stuck to this rule. Soin also had a really neat demonstration of robot guided surgery. Incredible!! Overall, this festival was a lot of fun. The corn was good, the competitors were friendly, it was well-organized, and I had fun. Afterward we had a couple of corn dogs, including Sweetie's first-ever. Buongiorno Italian…read morefall 2025 Festival My 100% Italian Wife has instructed me to provide sunny weather for the Festival, which is arguably the nicest festival in the Greater Dayton Metropolitan Area. A weekend of wonderful Italian music, delicious Italian food, good friends, and lots of great Italian food. And of course, a large TV for the Ohio State game. Caveat: we always take our own flatware to avoid the inexpensive plastic ware provided. The John Pirelli Lodge of OSIA is located at Bella Villa Hall on County Line Road in Dayton OH, and we have been attending for 50+ years. I have never understood that many folks seek out pizza at the Italian Festival. There are at least 100 plus pizza joints in the Greater Dayton Metropolitan Area which offer much better pizza. There is real Italian food here - just ask all of the Italians in the food booths. I have also never understood why this festival cannot provide great Italian Pepperoni Rolls. Has no one taken the famous WV Italian Pepperoni Roll Trail (which is now extended to Davis, WV?) I always pass on Baked Italian Pasta unless it is lasagna. I have observed my dear wife making homemade lasagna, and we both comprehend the reasons that the festival cannot provide lasagna. Today it is (baked) Italian Shells plus Spicy Italian sausage and loads of other Italian goodies. As expected the shells are much overcooked and the Spicy Italian sausage is perfect. One of the very best festival offerings is the Spicy Italian sausage, which is arguably superior to any sausage offered at the Dayton Art Institute October Fest. My dear wife implores us to arrive by noon; she can easily make several laps around the grounds and scope out the many Italian Delights including 50 homemade Italian cookies and of course, the gelato. We have friends and family who delay their arrival until 6:00 PM, and we perceive controlled chaos during evening hours. Of course, we tend to enjoy arrival at the many Dayton and Ohio festivals. Great that the Italian Festive is very family friendly from newborns to folks in their nineties.
