The street fair has lots of venders and interesting things... crafts, hand made things, art, if you want cool hippie shirt, belly dancing, food trucks. Sometimes field of sunflowers outside of town.

My only negative is, I wouldn't bring multiple kids that are 5-12 years old, its so crowded keeping track of them would be difficult and I think many kids would be bored. (Maybe your kids are different) The town of Waynesville was so charming, I want to come back to town when the festival isn't going on and check it out.

Food booths were pretty good with a diverse offering. When reading about the festival before actually going to it, it said that vendors must sell some type of popcorn related item however, very few people stuck to this rule. Perhaps they changed the rule? I dunno I came to eat some serious popcorn but ended up sticking to the freebie boxes that Soin Medical Center was handing out. Who can resist free popcorn? Not I. Soin also had a really neat demonstration of robot guided surgery. Incredible!! Overall, this festival was a lot of fun. There was something to do for the entire family...eating and shopping, what more can you ask for???

The Jackson Apple Fest…read moreholds a special place in my heart as one of the biggest parades I got to march in middle and high school, and the true appreciation the community has for the bands and other groups that perform. Actually walking through the festival, I have to admit, was a little disappointing. I love fair food as much as the next person, but I was really hoping to see more booths about the community, the apples, and maybe more music considering what an important role the marching bands play in this celebration. I saw only one booth selling apples, out of dozens of booths. I didn't see anything explaining the significance of apples to the festival or Jackson. Most of the booths were the same fair foods, church advertisements, or cheap Ali Express knick knacks sold at a higher price. The rides were squeakier than my hometown county fair's, so you definitely couldn't catch me on them. I definitely didn't hate the festival, but I just wish it had more community and celebration aside from the parade. From the band/marcher side, I was sad to see after several years, they still have not invested in more covers for the wires on the ground. Even as a pedestrian, I was tripping over them, and I remember how dreaded these wires were during parade marching. I really hope they cover these to avoid accidents and just provide easier mobility. The groups that perform deserve that. In my opinion, the parade is what makes this festival. Bands compete for ratings, but they also have fun and celebrate each other. I recommend coming after 7 for the parade. There are lots of floats, lights, and fantastic musicians. That is where I really feel community.

Only found 2 places at the entire event that sold candy/caramel apples. What a let down. If someone opened an apple only kiosk they would corner the market. Truly a let down. There's always the pumpkin show which never fails to disappoint.

This festival showcase was put on by Modern Tiny Living (MTL), to show off their custom-made houses…read moreon wheels! My main crush? The Point. Why? Loved the elevated front bay window seating. The storage under the floor of the couch was ample. And the seating turns into a nice-sized guest bed! I'm not very sold on lofts, so if I could upgrade the bed to be a hydronic drop-down, I'm 100% sold! Guess that where the title CUSTOM comes into play, and we really see how flexible this company is! One thing to build on: More designing and building companies at this show. The fantastic number of visitors that bought a ticket, showed up, and gladly waited in line to tour the tiny houses was way more than originally expected - score!! It would be incredible if MTL opened up this showing up to other builders, so the public can see many different designs, floor plans, upgrades and space-saving ideas from different companies. Nicely done, MTL! From your two years of planning, 1.5 years building, you did a great job! This was my first time physically inside a tiny home, and it was a great introduction to the process.

It is very kid-friendly, and dog-friendly. We were there for the corn, but mainly for the amazing corn dogs from Bite Me, a "gourmet" corn dog tent. Someone talked me into entering the corn eating contest. It was a weird, team event with several heats, so there really weren't any winners (or we were all winners, right?) The corn was good, the competitors were friendly, it was well-organized, and I had fun. Afterward we had a couple of corn dogs, including Sweetie's first-ever. A few sweet treats, a little wandering amongst the crowds, and we were off.

To me in order to be a true Bluegrass Festival they need to make it a 2 to 3 day event and have some local vendors I'd suggest about 2 local music shops one of which sells high end instruments and another that sells high qualit lower priced instruments. I'd also suggest 2 to 4 local jewelry vendors that sell different types of jewelry that wouldn't compete with each other. I liked the Food Truck selection. Wholly Smokes is my favorite . I'd appreciate the opportunity to buy Festival T Shirts. I got a couple but several years I couldn't find one or they weren't available. One might ask what makes me an expert on Bluegrass Festivals. That's a fair question that deserves to be addressed. I was the Vendor Coordinator with Summergrass Bluegrass Festival for years. I did my job in good times and bad. While happily married, while grieving the loss of my wife , while going through a several relationships, I always did the best possible job I could while learning to do it. This event does bring some great Bluegrass to Fairborn. As I look into the crowd I see faces I've seen for years. It is an event I look forward to every year that has a lot of potential to be Ohios primeere Bluegrass Festival.
