Kristen at Sugar High is my go-to for color and cut. She does a natural look when that's what you're requesting, and I've seen her gorgeous pink and purple ombrés if I ever get that bold . I get tons of compliments on my cut and color and I feel like a Pantene commercial when she's done with me. Thank you for making my hair beautiful, Kristen! read more

Stefani is fabulous! I've had her do my colour twice now and after seeing hair with "similar" colour afterwards it's so apparent. How incredibly talented she is. Looking at her gallery of photos you she is talented but when you look at other hair especially creative colour. Her works stands out above and beyond. I get so many compliments from people I don't even know as well as "looks" lol because she does 1 of a kind looks for me. I was very nervous the first time I had Stefani colour my hair and cut it. But now I will just give her an idea and let her work her creative magic. Maybe I shouldn't give such great reviews or she'll be impossible to book with.....Ok drop that 5 star to 1 just kidding. read more

I have been going to Stefani for all my hair needs for years. Believe it or not, she's so good, I drive all the way from the Bay Area to get my hair done with her! She is fast, efficient, and her work is always amazing. Even though we bleach my hair to get the colors super vibrant, my hair ends up softer and healthier after the bleaching than it's original state. Sugar High is right on the beach, and such a relaxing vibe on the inside. The rustic 50s-esque decor is very welcoming, warm, and done really well. Stefani knows how to provide an environment, and make everyone feel like they're family. Worth the three and a half drive every time. No question about it. read more

This review is not for the owner but her sister/ partner who she recommended for hair/ makeup for a wedding. She is definitely not as good as the owner of the sugar high studios, but is equally expensive. Why am I rating this on the studio's yelp - please do not recommend people of under par skills, especially when they charge the same as you do and do not carry enough products to align with a usual wedding make up needs. Also if their attitude is not aligned to fix the issue they might have caused like an incorrect eye lash addition read more

Stefani is pure magic! I am in love with what she did with my hair. Not only is she extremely talented, she is also a gorgeous human being. It's lovely just to hangout in her presence and listen to her thoughts on life. So stoked to have found her. read more

I have gone into salons before and asked for an inch to be trimmed off my waist length hair. I have walked out with shoulder length hair, which is not what I wanted at all. I started going years without getting my hair cut because I was afraid of someone hacking it off. With that being said, I am really protective of my hair and who cuts and colors it. I have been having Stefani do my hair for over five years. I drive almost four hours from the Bay Area to see her. That is how much she is worth it! She is amazing with bright funky colors along with normal every day colors. She never cuts my hair shorter than I want but I will let her if she says it needs to be trimmed more because I trust her. She really values the integrity of your hair and does everything she can to make you happy. Talented, down to earth, skilled, amazing. What more could you ask for in a hairstylist? I have followed Stefani from three different salons to her newly opened personal salon. Her new salon is absolutely amazing and stylish. It is convenient and very accessible. I am always extremely pleased every time I get up from her chair. Stefani is the utmost professional and has created an extremely comfortable atmosphere for her clients. If I ever end up getting married, Stefani is the only one I would have do my hair and makeup. I cannot imagine letting anyone else touch my hair. We always have fun and I only wish I was closer so I could get my hair done by her more regularly! read more

I've been a client of Stefani Picchi (owner) for about a year. I had just moved to town and was needing to find a stylist. I sure hit the jackpot with Stefani. I realize her specialty and reputation is for women's services such as color correction, extensions, makeup, weddings, etc, but she's got skills for the guys too. This will be the third location I've followed her to and I'm so happy that she's finally the owner of her own salon and not renting a chair from someone else. By the way, I love the new location in Shell Beach. Just the drive getting there with the beautiful, serene ocean views, already puts me in a good mood each time I arrive for my appointment. Check out the photos of the magical results being modeled by her clientele along with her meticulously decorated salon. She's a perfectionist that delivers stunning results every time! Stefani is a rare gem. Her positive energy, sweet personality and stunning results will leave you feeling happy and looking your best. Highly recommended! read more

I finally got the opportunity to get my hair cut from Kristin, 2 times now...It's the best cut I've had. I will be a forever client. My daughter got her hair cut and highlighted by her and it looks amazing. Like a work of art. Shes know exactly what and how to do it. Thank you Kristin!! read more

I went to sugar high studios with a crazy idea and no hope that it will turn out like I wanted it to, but I was so pleasantly surprised when Kristen did my hair in the fiery ombré I asked for. It looks amazing!! Hell, it looks better than I had thought. She is very talented and gentle, even with my crazy thick curly hair. I am so happy with the results and will definitely be coming back. I highly recommend them. read more

I called multiple times, and no one ever answered. I left a message and sent an email to try to see if they are available to do my hair and makeup on my wedding day but never received a call or email response. read more

Stefani has colored my hair three times now, and I've absolutely loved it every single time! I went from jewel tone rainbow, to my little pony pastel rainbow, to a rainbow shade in between and she is a MASTER of all fun/party hair colors. I have looked for YEARS for someone who was able to achieve the look I wanted and I'm so happy I've finally found someone who can! She talks you through anything you might be concerned about, and really cares that her customers walk out looking exactly how they want. She also did my wedding hair, and it was SO PERFECT. She worked so hard to achieve the look I wanted, and managed to make my updo look voluminous without me having to have extensions. MAGIC. I really can't recommend her enough. read more

Stefani has been doing my hair for about a year now and I've seen her dream of her own salon come to fruition within the past few months. Stefani's forte is women's cuts/color and weddings but she knows how to make us men look good too! Stefani always goes outta her way to make you feel comfortable and "at home" all while making you look and feel fantastic. Her knew salon adds to the great experience due to her pride in what she does and how she takes care of her place....Stefani and her salon are truly a gem of the central coast and highly recommended! read more

I absolutely love my hair!! My friend and I were searching for a place to go since we both had a terrible experience the last time we had ours done. I have been going to Kristen for a very long time and followed her to this salon. The salon is super cute and in a good location. Kristen is an amazing hair expert, if I want to do anything to my hair she is always up to try new things. Kristin is absolutely amazing! So thorough and meticulous... colors and cuts are gorgeous

I am from LA originally and before I found Sugar High (Stefani) I would actually drive 6 hours for my cut, color, style, etc. I found Stefani through her awesome reviews and booked her for my wedding! And I am so lucky I did. I felt so at ease with her (and on such a stressful high energy day she was like a rock to me) Stefani was calm, on time, kind, and of course did an INCREDIBLE job with my hair and makeup. As well as my bridesmaid's hair and makeup. I have never felt more lovely and at the same time still felt like me. Now I go to Sugar High Studios for all my events as well as my regular cuts and colors. Do not hesitate to contact Stefani (yes, she is busy but so worth it), truly your search is over. Contact her I promise you will be happy you did. read more

I had my hair done by Kristen and she was so kind, patient and professional! I came in with many different hair ideas that were all over the place, but wanted something that would let me grow out my hair/not get touched up super often. Kristen had just the idea and I am so happy with my hair! She explained to me each step of the process, double checked with me if I liked the colors she was mixing, and gave me future recommendations on what I could do with my hair. Amazing customer service and amazing work! read more
