It is the…read morequick or emergency "go-to" place (convenience/gas) on the island, just at the end of the Odell Williamson Bridge as you come in from the mainland over the Intercostal Waterway. If you are looking to make big grocery store trips to get a big bunch of food or supplies for the week, you probably are going to head to the Lowes Foods right back over the bridge or the Food Lions near Sunset Beach or Shallotte. But for quick things, a few food items or convenience store things, beer, etc. then Sheffield's fits the bill. A huge walk in beer cooler, always nice especially when it is so hot outside! There is a small seafood shop in the back as well. Quick ice stop here is probably the main reason we see it so much. Very nice people working, great location, and handy items make Sheffield's one place you will probably visit many times if you make it out to OIB anytime for a vacation.

Touristy store which charges an arm and leg for items. Think 7-11 across the street from the…read morebeach. This place is VERY small, so it's hard to move around in there if it's crowded. If you run out of bread, soda, or cereal, it's easy to stop in here to pick it up. Oh and don't forget the snow globes and other touristy items you can't live without. I was going to give this place 3 stars, but it deserves an extra one for the great location! There are a few parking spots, but most of the patrons walk here. You know those coolers on wheels? Here's a great way to use one - roll on over to pick up a few cold ones and then roll on out to the beach!

Helped the guys get some cigars that were $20 cheaper than buying them at the resort. They had some great little wood signs, beautiful candles, candy, drinks, alcohol, batteries, anything you may need. Cute place to pick up a few little souvenirs. Growing up, this store was named "Food Chief"- and I still call it that sometimes out of habit. It's near Prosser Field for baseball and softball, so lots of ballgame business. The store has everything you can expect in a convenience store, even a Little Caesar's attached, so the inside smells like pizza. For beverages, there are plenty of coffee (iced and hot), slurpee, and soda varieties. I'm a member of the Sip-and-Save coffee club at Circle K stores, and they accept that. The workers are generally nice, and I believe the store is family owned. On Christmas Eve, the employees were festively dressed and extra cheerful. I appreciated that and sure hope other customers were just as nice to them.
