My daughter is only 2 and a half years old. She LOVES coming here! Cooper is her "stallion" Kristi is her trainer and has a wonderful approach towards my daughter. I highly recommend this center to all riders of different ages.

I was looking for a barn to board my horse that was a little bit closer to home. I came across Code…read moreBlue on Facebook and figured it was worth checking out. They had a cute barn, decent size areas to ride, close to the trails, a stall, small private turnout areas and private tack closets. I brought my horse there a few weeks later. Things started off just fine for a while, then the things the owner had said would be taken care of never were. The rings were never dragged, weeks would go by. I could see not dragging the outdoor but the covered ring would freeze over and you had no where to do anything with your horse. The owner had stuck a round pen in the middle of the outdoor arena which turned it into a racetrack. I mean why was i paying board at a place with 2 arenas if neither have footing that is rideable? The workers were nice but knew nothing about horses. I would come out and find my horse in his turn out with his halter on and found him caught on the tree branches that hung into the pasture. Not to mention the hay nets that they had out in their turnouts, which is great to not waste hay, but not so great when they wouldn't throw the hay out that was left after it had rained. I would find moldy hay in horses hay net almost weekly or multiple times a week (depending upon the weather). The final straw for my was then the owner had these hay boxes made for the stalls. My horse is long and tall standing at 17.2, so adding something extra that extending off the stall wall doesn't work well. I understood the owners reasoning but I would have appreciated being asked if I wanted in my horses stall, that I pay for. I mean that would be like a landlord sticking something in your apartment without your say so. Anywho, these hay boxes were low, which a hay net hanging from them to the ground (they were may be 3ft off the ground). The edges of these custom boxes were not sanded . I had expressed my dislike of these boxes but my concerns were ignored. Needless to say, I got a text from the owner one day, while I was at work saying my horse ripped his face open while in his stall (she had no idea what it could have been). I rushed down there on my break, thankfully my vet said he didn't need the flap of skin hanging off his face didn't need stitches. My horses stall had blood smeared all over the walls, after a walk through I found a chunk of hair, skin and blood on the edge of the hay box. I was curious. The owner of the barn did not even apologize for what happened to my horse. Needless to say I came back later with a drill and took down the hay box. In short no I do not recommend this place. There are way more horses on the property than legally allowed to have according to the town of Islip. The only redeeming quality of this disgusting barn are the people and the horses who board there.

I've been riding horses for 14 years and when i got my first horse and boarded him there, there was nothing but problems. I had a camera in my horses stall and caught a person throwing a bucket at my horse and calling him a nasty motherf**ker. They didn't grain him like they said they were, they never turned him out like they said they were, and they never cleaned his stall. I was mortified to see how my horse was living after a few weeks. Before i could even get him out of there, they found my horses old owners and were telling him how i was abusive to my horse and that they needed to take him back. I unfortunately lost my heart horse in the process of all this. I hope these people rot in hell for what they put all these people and all of these poor animals through. This place is a complete dump... and that's a compliment. I don't know how they still have animals, let alone CHILDREN, with how many reports to the SPCA they've gotten. I wish i could give them less than 1 star. Stephanie is a nasty, lying, conniving and manipulative person. Never trust a word that comes out of her mouth. She's full of shit and will fuck you over. And as for Dan. I never had a huge problem w/ him Bc he was barely around. But he lied about feeding the horses too. Good luck to anyone that reads these reviews and still decides to board there. You were warned.

Riders Beware! My…read more10 yr old daughter was taking riding lessons here for almost 6 months until her trainer decided to move on from this barn to further her career on a different path. Another trainer who was not training my daughter originally but, who is a trainer & manager of the IEA team @ IHS was very unprofessional towards us. She claims she over sees everything; teaches 40 kids and gives 80 lessons a week there. We were going to weekly lessons there for almost 6 months but, on tues 8/15/23 no scheduled trainer in the book to teach my daughter. This trainer who runs things over there-"so she says"..did not approach, call or contact us to even apologize to explain the mishap and she was at the barn that day too. Another trainer nearby who happen to over hear the lack of professionalism going on offered to step in and help train her. My daughter got a 15 minute lesson instead of her 30 minute lesson that we usually get which we were charged $65.00 for that day. NM was not in the indoor arena for my daughters entire lesson which I can show/prove on video. NM walked into the arena the last 3 minutes of the lesson. My daughter was very upset during and after the lesson. We were very disappointed & dissatisfied with how we were treated and called liars that day since we've been a customer/rider for almost 6 months now. I called the barn manager- left message and got no response. So I called again and I finally got in touch with the barn manager. I explained the entire situation in detail and asked for a make up lesson. Instead of showing good customer service & compassion towards what happened I got told the financial difficulties going on within the barn. I also was advised that NM is "not a manager" there she is just a "trainer" that teaches lessons for the IEA team only. The Barn manager told me I would get a call back after talking to NM but, I never did! Instead once again I was shown unprofessionalism & unaccountability text messages from trainer NM. I knew then we would stop going to this barn for anything & everything but, my daughter had 2 lessons remaining on her package that I knew they would definitely not refund us for. I had enough of being mistreated by this place and watching my daughter get upset over this incident. I asked again on 9/4/23 for a make up lesson for that day and was denied it again. Then on 9/11/23 I explained to a another staff trainer very nicely why we would not be returning for lessons anymore. NM sends me another rude & arrogant text msg implying we are liars and we were not wanted as riders there! Smh-This was of course after I resigned my daughters lessons from IHS to a different trainer. People please be aware of this place and this inexperienced & immature horse trainer NM. She shows no good qualities of customer service & professionalism! I hope she treats the horses better then she treats her students & parents. Will be filing complaints against IHS with the BBB & Business Consumer Alliance Association. Giddy up riders....Beware and don't go here!
