worst experience i've ever had. this place is the perfect example of the stereotypical condescending tattoo artist. i can't remember his name, but the guy who did my tattoo insisted it was physically impossible to do what i wanted at the size i wanted (i wanted a small one). i guess it's my fault for caving instead of just walking out, but i ended up with a tattoo that seriously bums me out. every time i look at it, i'm reminded of my failure to assert myself and get what i wanted. it's too big and frankly doesn't look great. im not even going to post a picture bc i hate it so much. i'm going to get it removed. read more

He did our tattoos along with my fingers and a completely unplanned tattoo he had to stop and take the time to draw. His work and professionalism were second to none. There is no other place in Dallas I'd go to for my tattoo needs other than Suffer City! They make you feel at home and are incredibly nice people. I've had some of my tattoos done at other shops around the Dallas area, but other shops seem to be cold and lacking in spirt... but not Suffer City! I was here last Saturday for an appointment with Andy and this shop is honestly amazing. Super clean and everyone on staff was friendly and helpful. Andy was great I told him a vague idea of what I wanted (an owl on my forearm with roses) and what he drew up was perfect. I could not be happier with it. I had an amazing experience getting my first tattoos at Suffer City with a guy named Santi! Firstly it was very easy for me to book an appointment with him, through instagram of the Tattoo Shop, I chose the artist that I wanted! I talked to Santi (the artist that I chose) through direct message, and he made very simple for me to schedule my appointment, I could send to him the ideias of my tattoos and some pictures, and with those informations he told me more or less how much they would cost. My appointment was scheduled within 5 days and when I got there he had my drawings on hands, and particularly I felt more comfortable because it means that he was ready to receive me! He was very patient when I decided to change the spot of my tattoo, he heard my Ideas and after explained very well the care that should take with them! When I got home I saw that I forgot something on my tattoo (that was in my language) and he told me to go back there to get it fixed with no charges! About the quality of the tattoos? Excellent artists, and I have trusted lots of work to this studio - including two full sleeves, and have recommended and brought many friends and family members with me to this studio for their own work and all walked away with nothing but high regards to the staff and professionalism of the staff. Why doesn't this place have more reviews? I got a great, simple tattoo here, super quick and easy. My friend and I both got pricing that was worth a little further drive. I hope they can expand at some point, because two of the artists were sharing a room, and I think that led to more waiting around than was necessary. Again... the pricing was most likely worth it. The simple fact is, this isn't even near the best tattoo shop in Dallas. It is in the bottom 20 out of 300+ shops The staff is rude!! The counter help was polite and nice. I was able to schedule a last minute consultation last week to talk about my ideas and make my first appointment for Sunday. I am in LOVE with his interpretation of what I had in mind. He went above and beyond what I wanted. Monday I came back to do the outline on the inside of my arm and I'm leaving just as pleased. Everybody who works here is helpful and polite. Thomas does beautiful work and makes you feel so comfortable. His line work is immaculate. Thomas is special because if he feels that an aspect of your idea might work better and look better on a different part of your body, or maybe a brighter color scheme, or simplifying it to really make it stand out, he's very honest and is open to your input. On the other hand, if you want one of the best tats you can get in this city with quality work, a clean environment and honest feedback to make sure you get the best art for you body, then look no further. Suffer has done several tats on me so far and I love that they definitely have an understanding of how to tattoo African Americans and I've never had an issue with ink falling out or extended healing times. Stephen's anal retentive level seriousness has ensured he has some of the best staff available and yes, they are real artist.
