It took us a while to our sandwiches (4 cheese melt and steak melt) but the staff were very patient and answered all our questions. We decided to eat outside and our food was delivered with a smile. Bread was thick and nicely browned, like Texas toast. 4 cheeses included pepper Jack which was a surprise, and may have been mentioned. That cheese was also in the steak, and that was fine. Steak was strictly ok, not a lot of meat taste but nice consistency. Added mushrooms were plentiful and tasty. Both sandwiches were large enough to fill hungry travelers. Overall I'm glad we stopped and tried Sun-sational. If we once again find ourselves in Whiteville I would stop and try something else, because all the sandwiches looked creative and a good value. Recommended!

We typically use the drive-thru, park, and enjoy our meal together in the truck. It's a small tradition that means a lot to us. On this particular visit, we ordered our usual items and requested they be toasted and heated. After paying, the young cashier instructed us to circle back through the drive-thru. We complied, even though there were now 3-4 cars ahead of us. Oddly, the car directly in front of us was not asked to circle around, which raised questions about consistency in service. After waiting over 25 minutes, we returned to the window and asked again if the sandwiches had been properly heated and toasted. The cashier assured us they had just come out of the oven. We parked and began to eat. My mother immediately noted her sandwich was cold. I checked mine--same issue. Neither sandwich had been heated as requested. I walked inside to explain the situation and requested a refund. The older woman behind the counter, who appeared to be the manager, refused, stating, "We don't give money back." She then unwrapped the sandwiches, touched them, and offered to reheat them. I found this deeply concerning--placing outside food back into a kitchen oven is a serious sanitary violation. She also remarked, "Restaurants don't give money back," which I found dismissive and inaccurate. I've traveled the world and dined in countless establishments--many of which prioritize customer satisfaction and would have handled this differently. Still, I remained calm and returned to the truck to assist my mother inside. Once inside, the manager's demeanor shifted noticeably. Despite our polite insistence that the sandwiches were cold, she continued to claim they had been properly heated. My mother, a proud Native American woman, softly reiterated that they were not. We again requested a refund and prepared to leave. At that moment, a gracious Black woman seated nearby approached and offered to pay for new sandwiches. Only then did the manager agree to issue a refund. I thanked the woman sincerely--her kindness and courage to speak up made a difference. There are four key takeaways from this experience: Sanitation matters -- Reheating returned food in a kitchen oven is unacceptable. Respect your regulars -- You never know who your loyal customers are or what they mean to your business. We will not return -- This experience was disappointing and disheartening. My mother summed it up best: "Son, remember to use a long-handled spoon with some folks." Gratitude to the woman who stood up -- Her empathy and action were powerful. She is a Queen. This was not just about cold sandwiches. It was about dignity, respect, and how people are treated. I hope this letter encourages reflection and change. Sincerely never going back.

To give you an idea, my husband and I ate there this evening and here's what we had (all excellent). Appetizers: tuna tartare with capers, wasabi, sesame seeds, lettuce, and crisps. It was well balanced and delicious. The other appetizer was Cambodian Spring Rolls, which were perfectly browned, and eaten by placing them in a romaine lettuce leaf with crumbled peanuts and dipping it in an amazing but light sauce. The textures and flavors played off of each other wonderfully, elevating it far above any regular spring roll you may be thinking of. For entrees, my husband had the special, Paella (saffron rice, mussels, shrimp, clams, and a whole crab, red bell pepper). Every item was perfectly cooked, neither undercooked nor overcooked and it tasted fantastic. My entree was perfectly cooked pan-seared salmon filet, with perfectly grilled large asparagus and the most amazing take on grits I have ever had (not your mama's breakfast grits). They were delicately flavored with butter, a hint of cheese and I don't know what else but it understated while still having flavors that seemed too complex for grits to have, without being overdone. There are menu items for both the more and less adventurous diner, and I cannot recommend this place highly enough. A gem in the middle of nowhere.

Well yes, yes you can. This isn't dollar menu cheap but it's perfectly reasonable for what you get. I like the ambiance too, they have elevated ceilings and the dining area is spacious, and it's clean Remember when KFC was good? Well Smithfield's has captured that with their tenders, the meat is tender and juicy, the breading is good and well seasoned it really is what I remember KFC being, delicious. Bbq pork was good, nice and meaty, needs some sauce though, not sure if you're supposed to ask for it separately or what but it was good, just needs sauce, the hush puppies were on point as well, Cole slaw and potato salad all very good I'd be more than willing to come back and try more of the menu
