The ale selection on tap was a little odd - I think 5 pale ales plus one amber ale, in December, with no dark ales at all but the Kernel export stout in bottles was delicious if a tad pricey. Apparently it's often on tap so keep an eye. The Christmas burger was incredibly good - the combination of camembert, cranberries and mustard mayo brought so many surprisingly complementary flavours and fundamentally the meat itself was fantastic. Best burger I've had in a while. I liked how there is a video games corner - a comfy sofa in front of a tv and you can borrow mario kart from the bar! There's also table football and pool and it got very noisy as competitive spirits rose, so caution if you're looking for somewhere really calm, but overall I'd love to come back here and will try to do so as unfortunately it's likely to close due to some horrible luxury micro flat development killing the only thing in the area that would actually service the tastes of the kind of people in the market for a luxury micro flat. Will be a real loss for Croydon if that happens.

My wife and I walked into the premises that had bifold doors wide open and I was shouted at by a blond women who stated "I just moped that floor!" I said I'm sorry and said are you open and she, the blond woman, shouted back at me "we close at four!" So I walked out. I was standing outside the cafe with my wife when I heard the blond woman say to her female colleague "what an idiot!" obviously directed at me! There wasn't sign to say they were closed and as the doors were open thought we could enter and have a nice meal as we have done on previous occasions. We, my wife and I, went to Dottys Tea House after where our receipt was printed 16.08 pm so clearly we went to Galaxy Cafe before 4pm. The boss needs to know about the "customer service" that isn't on offer at his establishment. There should also be a sign stating "wet floor" because if we had slipped over the owner would be liable for a personal injury claim. We will never return to this place!

They had served 4 other people who arrived after me and they offered no apology for my long wait. They offered a take away to which I declined. They offered no explanation for not making my food but instead looking at me and watching me wait. I felt extremely uncomfortable with them watching me wait as if I was going to them for free food! I have never received such appalling service before. I'm cross with myself for wasting so much time waiting for food that wasn't even made! I will definitely not be going here again!!!

In summer you can sit outside near the fountain and read. I have had several lunches there and recommend their omelettes, club sandwiches, or if you are feeling hungover and gluttinous, their range of all day breakfasts are much appreciated. Service is relatively quick ,though businesslike. Ana's can get very busy so be prepared!
