However, what are you even expecting entering a place literally called the COLOR studio? That being said, the staff was very welcoming and friendly. Their mascot, Cookie, was definitely a treat (Be advised if you have dog-phobias or allergies). Ultimately, from the displays to the marketing of their very own T-shirt's, this is salon is well put together. I know you didn't read this review just for the appearance, so let's get started with what really matters, the quality of the haircut. Just so you know my hair is very coarse, and without conditioner, drier than a desert. This didn't matter. Tiffany reviewed and discussed to ensure my hair would be managed correctly and then proceeded. The transparency and honesty was very refreshing as you absolutely don't want to sit with someone that thinks they know it all to then screw up your do'. Partial highlights on top and a trim on the sides; that's what I got. Sarah helped out as well and showcased her expertise when it came to the finite details of men's hair. I became comfortable with revealing more about my personal self, which can be a true testimony to the humbling yet luxuriate atmosphere the studio bestows. The price was reasonable, around the 130 mark, but that was to be expected. In conclusion, I definitely would recommend to my friends, and so my friends, I strongly suggest you consider taking a visit.

She is the most unprofessional person I have ever met and I hope I one trusts her with your hair or money* I had my second appointment with Amber today. The idea from the beginning was to darken my root and get rid of my orange. I left my appointment with hair that was still pretty orange, but I understand it's a process and decided to give it another shot. I went in again today, hoping to get rid of my orange tones. She said that toning would not work on my hair, so I asked if doing a light purple would be a fun way to get rid of the orange. I ended up leaving with almost black roots that melt into orange and then very dark purple. She either did not listen to me, or did not have the knowledge to tone. She just knew how to cover up with darker colors. I would have let this slide, but she also raised her prices since last month, to almost double what I was quoted. She did not tell me about this until the end of the appointment. I texted her later asking about it, and she said it was my fault for not checking her Facebook page. She offered a reimbursement over text, but then changed her mind. I have contacted my bank to try and secure a refund for just the amount over what I was quoted. Because I'm fair and honest. *edited to add that Amber blocked my phone number before this could be settled. She also blocked me on Instagram. I was not being rude or harassing. I have added pictures of my hair to show how disappointing the work was. I also have pictures of our text conversation if anyone is interested in seeing her responses. Being blocked is the most unprofessional thing I can imagine.* I wanted badly to settle this amicably, but Amber did not seem interested in that. I thought others should know before seeing her.

Treusdell Salon and Spa is actually several independently owned and operated salons and spas…read moreoperating in the same building with a common reception area. Due to construction and the awful traffic congestion along the route to my regular stylist, I decided to take advantage of a Groupon special and get my hair done closer to home during the holidays. Betty Bahktiar is an excellent colorist and I'm happy with the cut and color. She's warm and friendly, too. I really like her, but I feel that people deserve an honest review, so I'm going to be as objective and honest as I can. The actual price I paid was more than double the Groupon price, even though I had sent her numerous pictures of my hair and what I wanted done. I had purchased full highlights/lowlights for half-off the regular price. However, when I got there, she said it would be another $65 because of what I needed done. I'm a softie sometimes, and I just said okay and paid, but thinking about it now, I decided to mention it in my review. I also felt pressured to get an expensive keratin treatment that I really don't need. It was a pretty hard sell. My hair has been pretty healthy, even though it is highlighted, because I take very good care of it. I've also been under the care of a master stylist who does excellent work. After she finished the highlights and pulled the foils off, Betty said my hair had a lot of damage. Well, it wasn't badly damaged before, so I was surprised and deeply concerned. However, after I got home and gave it a rest for a week, I deep conditioned it and it's much the same as before - silky and strong overall. Any chemical process is hard on hair. I researched keratin and Brazilian Blowout treatments, and I'm so glad I didn't have it done. It turns out that formaldehyde fumes are released during the process, and it's unavoidable - no matter what the product manufacturers say. The formaldehyde is what binds the protein to the hair shaft. For a person with badly impaired lungs (I'm on oxygen all the time), this could have sent me into an exacerbation if not outright respiratory failure. That is per the MSDS sheet on the Brazilian Blowout products. So I immediately cancelled that appointment! One last thing, and this is strictly a pet peeves of mine: I really wish salons would use care in their music selection. Ask the customer if they have a preference. I have pretty broad taste, but some customers don't like rap or today's pop music. Other than that, I don't care. It's irritating to sit for over two hours listening to music that makes you cringe. For that reason, most spas play soft, relaxing music.
