Booked KK Catering for my wedding next year, they contacted me a month ago informing me that they…read morehad to cancel our catering due to COVID and that we would receive a refund for our deposit. We have still not received our refund even though they replied to a previous review that the refund would be released immediately. They have also ignored all emails recently! Appalling service. Not a cheap deposit either!

We booked KK catering 3 months ago to provide the food for our Christmas party we chose street food…read morefor 70 adults and burgers and chips for 30 children. Together with Belgium waffles and ice cream We also booked a bar through a local company, an Xbox van, plus entertainment for the children including a Christmas teddy etc. I text the mobile number I was given at 9am in the morning and had no response, at 10.30am I rang the number and woke the guy up, he sounded rough and hungover. I explained who I was and that I was getting worried and wanted to check he was coming to our event and what time who would arrive. He told me he was planning on leaving at 1pm to get to us and was around an hour away. At 3.30pm I was getting extremely worried as my guests where arriving at 5pm and I'd heard nothing, I rang twice and got no answer, this was causing me and my family stress and you can imagine. I got a call back to say he was having trouble with the lights on his trailer and was trying to fix them since 11am! I asked why I had not been informed of this so I could have at least tried to sort something out, he said he had been trying to fix the problem and was now waiting for the AA who were arriving at 5.10pm ! The first thing I did was phone the head office number and got an answer phone! The guy offered me no contingency plans, my guests all arrived hungry expecting the food I'd told them they were getting on the party invites At just before 6pm he told he wasn't coming, I was shocked as I'm sure anyone would be, imagine if you had booked for your wedding! I have got my money back and was sent flowers and chocolates and the offer of a voucher to go out for dinner! That's it, the party cost us almost £5,000 and was ruined by their lack of service and I have been offered no compensation towards my costs and the stress of not being able to feed my guests I want everyone to know about this because it's unacceptable and I've never experienced service like this before, we host 2 or 3 big events a year and I have never not had a catering company turn up We will stick to local in future, how can such a large company let us down so badly? Please beware before you book with them

After making it into the top 4 on Masterchef a couple of years ago, Jackie aka 'the Hungry Gecko',…read moremade the decision to follow her true passion of cooking Asian street food full time and the world is a world place because of it. The slightly unassuming Beech Inn, Chorlton, is Jackie and Barbarella's (the very cool Silver Bullet trailer all the food is served out of) full time home and parked up in the beer garden. Food is ordered from the hatch and can be eaten either in the beer garden or, thankfully (because Manc doesn't have the climate of California unfortunately), inside the pub. The menu consists of a number of regular dishes such as pad thai, dal, beef rendang and jungle curry as well as regularly changing specials to keep you on your toes. Having tried pretty much all the food at various times I can quite happily proclaim everything to be amazing. The ingredients are all locally sourced where possible and the meat and fish are higher welfare, something that is very important to Jackie. Everything is freshly made and the flavours are just fantastic, a true sign of the passion in Jackie's cooking. The food is also exceptional value with dishes such as the rendang (one of my favourites) priced at around the £6.50 mark with the portions being pretty darn generous. Don't wait until summer, this is definitely a year round beer garden treat!

Fabulous indian street food in the garden of the Beech in Chorlton. Menu has some favourites on…read moreevery week and some changed. Everything is excellent and great value for money. My favourite is the lentil dal and even though the chef is vegetarian meat eaters are well catered for here. The beef rendang, which comes various ways including over rice, with flatbread or in a bun as a sloppy joe, is delicious. If you really like heat then ask the staff for extra fresh red chilli on top, they will happily oblige. It's not always on but the chai latte is warming and delicious so make sure you order it if it's available. A trip to this trailer for an authentic street food experience is something you just won't get anywhere else in South Manchester. The owner has travelled extensively across Asia and it really shows in the food. It's not like anything I've tasted in a restaurant in the UK. Follow them on one of their social media accounts to see the weekly menu.

    Camerons Outside Catering

    Camerons Outside Catering

TL;DR - Weird setting, but fabulous food…read more The story here is complicated. Cameron's is technically an outside catering firm. They used to have a restaurant based at a local garden centre where they were very popular, but they had to leave that venue at short notice. They're now operating out of Cunliffe Hall, the Masonic Hall in Chorley and because they moved at short notice, most folks probably don't know they're here. They only open for meals on a Sunday, and the venue is a bit odd - it's basically a function suite, and they have a number of tables set up at one end of a very large room. But believe me, it's well worth the visit - the food is fabulous. We turned up for a family meal and the grub on offer was great. Most folks went for the Bury Black Pudding starter, but my sister had the mushroom soup and I went for the kangaroo steak. Yes, you read that correctly. Everything was absolutely flawless and everyone raved about their starters. For main course, most folks went for the roast beef which came out beautifully pink. My dad went for fillet steak and I had the duck which was amazingly succulent and juicy. Dessert came round and we went for apple pie and custard and lemon meringue pies - again, everything was absolutely delicious. Pricewise, it's amazing value. The staff are incredibly friendly and the service was very good. The only reason I can't give them five stars is that the venue is just a bit odd - it does't *feel* like a restaurant, but you could serve this food in a swanky city centre restaurant at double the price and nobody would complain. Go to Cameron's. Great food. Great prices. Great staff.
