Ok for starters the first time that I had suddenlink it was horrible. I'll be restarting my router/ modem 8 times per day and would have to call for the service being out constantly. Then I would talk about it and someone asked me "well what will you do without the internet?" In a condensing tone. I switched providers with that. And the price went up and up. I simply couldn't afford it anymore. 1 star easily. Then got them back. There was this one tech guy that came out and set something up but then it never worked so I called again and this other guy came out and fixed it and we got to talking and he said it was like he was fixing up his messes. "You have to know what you are doing" "I know you're new but come on man" Internet for me is an enjoyable luxury not a need. I literally use it for online gaming and streaming. I've been without it for years before. It's gone up $10. I'm hoping that I can still afford it in the future. But if I have to cut something the internet would be the first thing to go. As much as I enjoy being online it's not a need but a want. The only time it's actually been out for me is when the actual place has an outage but it wasn't their fault at all. There was a bad storm to which I hope the people there were ok. 3 stars cuz it's alright. I stay connected and just have to restart my router a normal amount. They even had the BBB come after them with a lawsuit for price gouging. Honestly I'd choose another provider if you are able or just find a way to use your smart phone. There's an app called net share that allows you to have an unlimited hotspot if you have an unlimited data plan. Also the apartment has free internet with the office so I could always just go there with my laptop, download games and be good to go playing offline like before. read more

I have never had this many issues with suddenlink. When you have to save the phone number to the store on your phone "favorites" list, there's a lot of problems. The bills keep rising and the service goes down seems like. I never want to use them again. read more

Had them for 9 months. Payed for 400mbps internet but consistently received 40mbps. Payed for tv and it was hit n miss with the channels depending on what room you were in. Had techs come about 6 times and replaced equipment twice and still nothing. The only response I got from them was "pay your bill and we will have someone look at it." After a few months some agents would promise a return on my money depending on the usage and now that I'm moving away and canceling my service they say I owe them about $900...for nine months....of 40mbps internet and bad tv which I payed $170ish a month... Horrible customer service. Service always out. Do NOT use Suddenlink. They are rude when you call them about device not being out. Very expensive and service goes out A LOT. You will spend hours on the phone trying to fix the service and they will ALWAYS be unable to help and they will have to schedule a tech to come out over a week later. Just not worth the cost. No star is worth this organization. Horrible! Piss poor tech support. Terrible customer service. Other adjectives would apply, but not allowed for this organization. Bottom line: they only have customers because of their monopoly! My parents live in Victoria and I work in Germany. My parents are elderly and this organization takes advantage of this. A cable has been down in their back yard for months. One tech guy says it needs to be buried and another says use a pole. They have had an appointment for more than two months to have this cable buried and it was finally here yesterday. This task has to be contracted out and takes time to get them to come out because the contractors only support Suddenlink one day a week. So I call my Mom to see how this is going around 130 Central Standard Time and no one has arrived yet. I finish the call 45 minutes later and no one ever came out as of that time. So one problem; the expectation that someone puts their life on hold between 8AM to 6PM could only be told to elderly, apparently to Suddenlink. Someone finally comes out and promptly tells my Mom to use a pole to raise the cable. Again, PISS POOR TECH SUPPORT! Uh, genius, you couldn't establish this fact when the cable first came down? Uh, genius, how are my elderly parents supposed to prop this cable up with a pole? By the way, my Step Dad has dementia. Hearing how they are being treated is maddening and zero accountability by them. My parents do not have an alternative for watching TV because learning technology is tough for them. I have called to get answers about this treatment and have been met with lackluster response or motivation on the other end. Suppose it's the telephone tough guy/girl attitude one can have with someone thousands of miles away! If there is an alternative to this dysfunctional, crappy organization, use it! read more

I seldom write bad review--figure there's enough negativity in the world...however, do not use Suddenlink. There are plenty of other options in our town. Terrible customer-service and no regard for even long-term customers. read more
