After working with EFG I am convinced that their business model is essentially this.... 1. Deny every claim possible on the first submission with the expectation that roughly 25% of people will just give up, and pay out of pocket. 2. For the 75% of people that fight for what they deserve, they will then start a war of attrition where the goal is to fatigue their negotiation adversaries into submission by arguing about rates and the # of service hours required for a job to be completed. All of which results in you, the purchaser of the "protection plan," having to endure delays and frustrations, you will have to call and negotiate with the mechanic shop and EFG, all while coming out of pocket for a rental car. It's not smooth. It's not easy. It's not quick. They will pay for the work that needs to be done but you will have to fight every step of the way. Good luck.

Like all the other reviews have said, do not waste your money on this company, as their product is a scam. Update to my original post: I received a call from Mike at Ethos. Mike apologized for the initial phone call and stated Ethos would ensure we were taken care of, as long as the issue was covered under the warranty; even if it was a pre-existing issue. This was a pleasant surprise and the excellent customer service I was hoping for. The car is now at the dealer for repair and the process seems to be running smoothly. I will add an additional update to this review once the car is properly repaired under the warranty. Thanks to Mike for the follow-up and turning this negative experience around.

I had an EXCELLENT experience with Jennifer in the claims department keeping me updated every step of the way, dedicating herself to my issues for over a month and answering any questions that came up! She really kept me at ease throughout the entire process, even with the inspection delay. Scott, the adjuster did a GREAT job as well, processing the claim once the report came back! I can't wait to extend the contract and continue to utilize their service in the future. If I was Younger, I WOULD WORK FOR ETHOS!!

First they called me, I'm a backflow testing company. I asked if they knew what I did, she tells me…read moreyes. That would be a first in 3 years of business. She tells me they have government contracts coming and they need companies like mine to do the work. I'm skeptical. I asked what they charge and she tells me 3% on the back end. I'm really trying to make it and it's not easy so I have to do what I can. I make the appointment. After a few questions about my business the lady I meet with "qualifies" me. She then hits me with the 5k fee I was not told about before hand. I had told her what I'm making and it's not making ends meet. Still she pushes. She also had no clue what I do, "backflow, isn't that HVAC?". She tries the payment tactic, I tell her "I don't have a hidden trunk of money somewhere". She would have kept at it had I not cut her off. Now I'm a single, woman owned business that is struggling to make it and this is what Business Through Government offers to do to me?
