They are cut in large thick rings and then covered in a thick crispy and crunchy batter. The batter is so flavorful, I rarely dip mine in the special sauce. Being a single person, I can never eat the entire basket. However, I can tell you they are still pretty good cold at home and reheating them in an air fryer is good, too. When I found out National Hamburger Day was May 28th, I knew I had to celebrate it at Chico's. Lucky for me the special of the Day was a Jalapeño Burger, which is my favorite burger. For my side, I went with their House Chips, which are like an Irish Pub Chip. They're made in house, just like the Onion Rings, so they're extra tasty. The service has never disappointed me. I typically always sit at the bar and not only is the bartender attentive, but the waitresses check on me as well. That's some pretty attentive service for a dive bar.

I'm not sure if they were understaffed but the people in front of me only ordered 2 sandwiches and I only ordered 1 and it took about 20 minutes for just me and the car in front of me to get from the order speaker to the window. Hopefully next time will be better but it was definitely not "freaky fast"

However, keep in mind that everything is freshly made. I've watched them and they do not dawdle. They are moving those sandwiches down the assembly line very smoothly. All that goodness is pressed between a toasted sub roll (I choose, wheat). I live about a mile and a half from the Firehouse and when I got home, it was still toasty warm. The pairing of beef brisket and pastrami was a winning combination. I pretty confident, I'll be ordering this one again. I've never made a combo, but I like that they have Miss Vicki's as a choice of chips. They also, have the typical Lay's potato chips, too. If you donate $4 you can get yourself an empty pickle bucket. The donation goes to support first responders and safety organizations. Mine comes in handy when doing yard work. When I said, no I'd just like a new cup that is not upside down, she swapped my cup and put the dirty cup back in the pile with the clean cups. The same girl was making my sandwich and using the gloves to clean off the counters then went back to making my sandwich. Gross! .
