I tend to avoid Subway because they don't put enough meat on their sandwiches, and a recent bad experience (elsewhere) only reinforced my negative opinion. However, I was in Wells recently with a friend and Subway was our only choice. I got the steak wrap, which wound up being quite tasty and loaded with meat. What made this a great experience, though, was the help: they were fun, friendly, charming, and in the end we had a great time. Next time I'm in Wells for lunch, I'll definitely stop at the Subway. read more

In reading the reviews here, it looks like this place can really be hit or miss depending on who is working here. I am happy to say that, on this day, Sunday, June 28th, a woman at this restaurant was everything one could ask of a Subway. ...not only providing everything we asked for, but going further and asking about things we might not have thought of, almost like they cared about us as humans! This is everything in the customer service industry and that's why I am giving 5 stars to this Subway. The actions of one person does make a difference. Joey the unlovely cashier that's working tonight clearly needs some training in customer service. Not only did she yell at me but through her own frustrations continuously got my clear directions wrong. She then proceeded to call me sweetie when handing me my change. No Joey don't be nice now that doesn't work for me. I let Joey know that I would have appreciated less attitude from her and that working in customer service myself hers is horrible. There are not a lot of food options in Wells, NV. Subway is a sight for sore eyes and has that reliable food that you know will taste the same almost anywhere. I went there two days while I stayed in Wells and both times were a great experience. The store was clean and tidy, despite it being rainy and muddy outside. The chips, drinks in cooler and cups were stocked. It is a nice thing to see since I used to work at a Subway and know that customers can go through things quickly. Abby and another young lady were there to help me the first night and they were fast, accurate and kind. I completed the survey found on my receipt and even got a free cookie. My dad and brother were very excited both times we went because they had meatballs in stock and on the line. Years ago this location rarely ever had meatballs. The only thing I would say is there weren't many cookie options. Both days they only had white chip macadamia and oatmeal raisin. I would have liked some chocolate chip cookies but all in all great experience and well run. read more

Oh. My. God. The worst service that I have EVER seen. And I have been to a LOT of places. It started before we even ordered. There was someone in front of us, and once he was done, the man working looked at my dad and said "you want a sandwich?" Not even a greeting, just awkwardness. So my parents order their sandwiches, and in the middle of the order the man says "no tomatoes." Okay.. We never got a full sentence out of him. His conversation went something like this: "Bread? "Cheese? Veggies? No tomatoes. Sauce?" Wtf? The other lady behind the counter is just sitting there and starts to ring in the two sandwiches. She is just as miserable looking as this man, if not worse. My mom politely tells her that my brother and I still need to order. She sighs very loudly and barks at us: "Cheese? Bread? Veggies? Sauce?" We felt as if we were a burden to them. They are the two most miserable people I have ever seen in my life. Extremely rude and made the environment super uncomfortable. We got one meal with cookies instead of chips and they charged us for both. When we told them, the girl goes "Well that's what they ordered!!" and then argues with us. We try to tell her that instead of chips we wanted cookies and she goes "Well you didn't specify!" What? Okay. It was so uncomfortable that we took our food outside and ate in the car. Maybe they knew this was a one time business since we were just driving through, but if I am ever in the area again, I will make sure to AVOID this place like the plague. Background - Stopped here after driving from Reno this morning. It is a good pit stop location. Atmosphere - This small Subway was crowded with road warn drivers and passengers. The tables were too close to everything making the small place feel over crowded. Food Appetizer - none today. Drinks - I had a diet pomegranate lemonade. It was fresh take on the classic. My Main Course - I had spicy Italian, basically two meats; salami and pepperoni. . Then you get to choose your veggies. The bread was on the drier side and blah. Dessert - None today. I stopped here on a trip across the country, so it was pretty much a convenience stop, but, I love Subway so I was anticipating normal Subway food. Although the employees were kind of awkward, one of the sandwiches they made us, they used STALE BREAD. Make no mistake about it....this bread was rock hard. There's no way they picked that up and didn't notice it. We went back in, had them make a new one, but they didn't even apologize or seem even a little sorry or embarrassed. The seeming manager was bent out of shape because he was on "overtime" and was too lazy to walk his butt to the back to make our food because he had opted to close "early". Stopped in yesterday for a quick bite on my way through. It was Lunch time and very busy the three employees working were very upbeat and pleasant to work with. They were having trouble with there a/c so the restaurant was very warm so I didn't stay to eat but they apologize for the temp of the building smiled the whole time and joked a little.
