The fries were nicely seasoned but the portion was on the small side. The Dave's sauce seems to be some morph between honey mustard and mayonnaise, and it was solid but. It necessarily special. The slaw they put on the slider was cool. I normally do not like coleslaw but theirs was on the mild side and that made it palatable. They generously provided 4 decent sized pickles and an extra slice of bread for carb lovers like me. And I must say, grab the napkins. Even before the fast food chicken wars that have exploded lately because of the epic surplus of similar fast food restaurants that have popped up around the burbs, I have always loved Zaxby's. I remember first discovering them on a road trip with a high school friend of mine, and I always look forward to the rare occasion that I would have them. Later on, it became annual when I knew I'll be within 10 minutes of them from Smash Con and could enjoy them. A few weekends ago, I went with a couple of friends and we all shared a tinder combo. Now, compared to other tenders in the area, theirs are relatively tiny. But the taste is unmatched. And that coleslaw and the fries that come with it... Whew! They're so flavorful! Now, the toast is fine, not as great as other places, but they make up for that with everything else. Many people have also complained about the service, but it was very fast for us. You start by placing your order and then you're asked to sit at a table. Actually, a sign tells you that the toppings area is not for waiting and that you are expected to wait elsewhere. It was not a terrible wait when you have friends but I would place an online order ahead of time if I were doing a pick up. Sometimes a wait only means your food is being prepared fresh. I have to admit that I may have gone too far on the pickle scale as almost all my toppings were on the vinegary briney side. The chicken bites were pretty good, but the burger itself felt very basic, almost like something from Burger King, and the bun didn't taste fresh--more like it had been sitting out for a while. The fries were bland at first and definitely needed salt, but once seasoned they were decent. On the other hand, the strawberry lemonade was excellent and definitely the highlight of the meal.
