There were four others tables taken by what seemed like locals so not overly busy for the size of the place. I found our server was quite slow, most of us just ordered water for drinks. She told us what the specials were for that day but did not mention any prices. The bacon cheeseburger macaroni soup sounded really good as the smoky burger. When she came back to take our orders, each order was written separately. A lot of us wanted the soup as the side order. Two friends ordered the smoky burger special but she was not clear that it came with two sides. After placing our orders she comes back to say they ran out of soup! All of us were disappointed but perhaps they didn't make enough as they weren't expecting a group of 12? The root beer float came with ice cubes which was odd, for a diner my friend was not impressed. My crispy chicken burger for $13.95 was just a frozen chicken patty with lettuce, tomato and mayo. I chose a salad with French dressing and the lettuce was very fresh like it was just cut from the head five minutes before! The 50/50 burger was not greasy but didn't have much bacon taste, they could probably improve on that one. Another two friends had the chicken cordon bleu which they said was quite good except the mashed potatoes was a bit dry and may not be real potatoes. We paid our bills individually at the till and my friend discovered the smoky burger special was $19.95! Definitely not worth it but it was very tasty. Overall okay but not sure if I would go to this place again next time I'm in town.

Came here with a group of 9 for dinner. This restaurant is located along the main road and is very…read moreeasily accessible. The main restaurant has quite a few tables and there is a lounge. It is a great place for families, friends or a date. The menu has a large variety ranging from appetizers, soups and salad, burgers and sandwiches, pasta, steak and pizza. The prices are reasonable and the portions are a nice size. They also offer a "special of the day". One friend ordered perogies to start, she had a choice or either fried or boiled. She chose boiled and they came with fried onions and bacon and sour cream on the side. A few of us had the baked lasagne, the large is $3 more so the dish was a bit larger but not sure if it was worth $3 more. It tasted delicious although we suspect they might have put nutmeg or some similar spice in the sauce. The poutine had lots of gravy and cheese. The nachos makes you drool, it smelled and looked so good. The cheese was just the right amount and was layered between the tortilla chips. The vegetarian pizza was a thicker crust with freshly sliced tomatoes on top. The waitress was friendly as was the cook. I found our food took a while but we were a large group and it seemed like there were also a few customers in the lounge. I guess you can't expect fast service as there are limited restaurants in the area.

I recently stopped in for some dinner with my mother (1 week ago) and for noon, it was pleasantly packed. We were swiftly seated and got drinks. My mom and I got Italian loaves (if you haven't tried them DO IT) and my husband had the fettuccine alfredo. The portion sizes are huge!! You almost get a whole loaf of bread with your sandwich! The caesar salad is to. die. for. So much garlic in the sauce and it is glorious! I always tell myself I am going to get something different when I come back, but I always stick to the same thing. Either I am a creature of habit, or it is just that dang good!

Today we were in Camrose so we stopped in for lunch. The first thing we noticed is that the café has the ambiance of Ikea. That's good or not good depending on your preferences. It certainly has a clean feel to it and you can see into the bakery through some glass doors. On the menu everything seemed to be the same price at $17.50 in 2022. I ordered the Lefse Wrap with beef. It was okay. The Lefse itself was quite good but the beef wasn't anything special. Still, it's a nice size and seems to be popular. At first I thought it was expensive but then I discovered that each meal includes dessert. With the dessert included the price seems reasonable. It's not a dessert like pie or anything large like that but any baked goods under the front glass counter is included. I had the Lingonberry chocolate puffs and I got two served with cream. The presentation was beautiful and they were delicious. Service was first rate. The young lady was pleasant, cheerful and seemed to genuinely appreciate our business. Coffee came with refills. This is a destination café and makes for an enjoyable lunch. I recommend it. Oh and they sell lots of Swedish themed gifts from Swedish flags of all sizes to mittens.

The borscht was a 4/5 (a bit too chunky for my liking) but the Ukrainian late was perfection. The perogies are stuffed full and a very good size. The cabbage rolls are proper sour cabbage rolls (not the German type that often gets served as Ukrainian). Served with local kolbasa sausage and coleslaw. Also a generous portion of onions and bacon. Definitely worth the drive from Edmonton.

As you would expect the people here know how to cook Ukrainian meals as if they've done it their whole lives because they probably have. It's also incredibly busy here for a Friday at almost 1:00 pm. Most Edmonton cafés would love to be this busy. I ordered the soup and sandwich combo and chose egg salad on brown bread and a "small" bowl of borscht. The sandwich was average but the borscht was excellent. My wife ordered the clubhouse sandwich and I tasted it too. The clubhouse had very crispy bacon just like it should be. It was very good. I had coffee and it came with lots of refills. My cup didn't hit empty until I wanted it to. There was a nice selection of pies, and the sign said Friday is pie day. I tasted her cherry pie. It was quite good, even better than average. This café makes a wonderful stop for lunch if you are in the area. It's easy to find and right across the street from Strawnichy Sausage place.
