It tasted very watery and didn't have too much cinnamon. There was also a man at the front selling newspapers so if you ever go to this restaurant, you could ignore him I thought you would have to pay him to get in, but it seems like he's just selling newspapers in the front which I thought was a bit odd

We walked in for brunch, and were immediately seated although it was definitely very crowded. We got the seasonal lunch with toast (zucchini, proscuitto, egg, etc) and an earl grey custard that also came with an espresso on the side. The coffee was so good we decided to order a flat white after since we didn't have enough! We also got the pea hummus brioche (all the brioches looked delicious), which was the most buttery and soft texture. Lastly, my favorite was the carrot hazelnut cake with cashew cream, topped with blueberries and a gooseberry. I will be thinking about that dessert for a while - probably one of my favorite sweet bites this year. The vibes were also very cute inside and all the servers were so sweet and helpful. Must come here if you're in Salzburg!

Ok, mind you I am a Baker... but I'm glad to know I do mostly cakes and pastries because if I made…read morebreads and doughnuts, I would be flying the white flag to surrender to this bakery! We were in Salzburg train station and I wanted to buy some breads to bring on the train with us. At first, I went to Anker but they took so long to assist us and boy! That was a blessing! Because that led me to Le Crobag. We got chocolate croissants, regular croissants, a cinnamon roll and sugar raised doughnut. I wish I tasted it right after we got out because until now, I am still pulling my hair as to why I only bought 1 doughnut! OMG! By far, in my experience of eating doughnuts, Le Crobags is the BEST ONE! I wish I have every adjective I can describe this doughnut. Never have I tasted such kind! Extremely soft.. yes, soft! Fluffy, light, even it didn't have any fillings, yet you taste something that's magical. I think I devoured that thing in less than a minute. I shared a couple of bites with my family coz i can't stop bragging about it. I wish someone would be nice enough to bring me a dozen from Austria all the way to the US! Now their croissant is another amazing product. Flakey and buttery! You would not want to put any fillings on it because in itself, it's to die for! Literally! I got Anker doughnut holes since that was the only thing they had for doughnuts and their regular croissants at the Vienna main train station.. but it has nothing compared to Le Crobags. So don't waste your time. I am just being honest, trying to save you guys $$ by leading you to the best bread bakery in Europe! So, if you haven't tried them.. go fall in line now!

If you're at the Salzburg train station, are too lazy to step outside and get a quality Doner…read moresandwich, and don't know where to grab a quick bite at the station: stop right here. Crobag is a French bakery chain with (franchise?) locations across Germany, Austria, Switzerland (and perhaps other countries). I would expect their business model is to have locations in train stations, for I've seen them in quite a few ones. If you're wondering about the name of the bakery chain, it's easy to guess that's would one comes up with if one smashes together a croissant and a baguette. Simple. Effective. Will remind you that this place is focused around breakfast pastries and sandwiches (though I also saw salads). I wouldn't normally review a chain, but in this particular franchise at least, I was quite impressed with their quality. What sold me on them was that they were baking fresh batches of croissant on premises after 7 pm in the evening (probably get the dough delivered from HQ and bake it on location). That really won me over, and while I had no intent on purchasing anything here initially, I stopped and got a marzipan croissant here, for the novelty factor, and quite liked it. (3.5 stars)
