This is a schmear of tuna... definitely not the subway prescribed four scoops in a foot long
Alexandra G.

Had two very disappointing sandwiches today at this subway. They've recently changed owners and I thought small town xenophobia was driving the poor reviews. Depending on your view, it's either a good sign or a bad sign that the problem with this subway appears to be based in reality. Paid $11.29 for the store to skimp on the tuna which tasted old, cucumbers that are heading towards translucent in spots like they had been frozen and thawed out, and the tomatoes had a hard core/rind which had not been cut out. My partner reached out to the owner before we posted this review. The owner's response was to try to gaslight us saying there were 4 scoops of tuna and that the clearly uncored tomatoes are cored... but they could remake the sandwich for $7.99... I don't really care to give this location another $8 to see if they can serve substandard food again. You're better off going across the street to get a made to order sandwich at Lira's and they've got really good potato salad too in the deli.

Stopped in here one evening while doing laundry probably on a Sunday evening when we walked in the door about 830. The location was already being cleaned up for the night. So I want to say they're dining area closes at eight but you're still able to place an order for your sandwiches after that so they close roughly around 8:30 PM Who were the only two customers in there so we were assisted fairly quickly with our orders to go. Associate assisting us was polite and soft-spoken. And patient with us even though it was close to closing time for walking in last minute. With most subways, usually a pretty decent place to stop in and get something to eat. A small location inside as well. But a clean little set up.

This was supposed to be a Cali turkey sandwich.

This staff lacks in communication, acts of service, professionalism and common sense. The young short blonde and the taller brunette man didn't wear name tags and had attitudes. They both were hiding in the back to begin with. I ordered on sandwich to be toasted. They proceeded to pull off all of the shredded cheese from my sandwich and throw it back into the cheddar cheese container because they "can't toast a sandwich with cheese on it". They had an attitude about it and were completely unsanitary. This staff needs help. Whoever is the manager needs to be trained because this is unacceptable. Neither of these staff could communicate without being disrespectful. They didn't clean up after themselves. We proceeded to eat in because it was hot and they hid in the back again leaving an elderly woman to wait 10 minutes for them to come out. I do not recommend this staff or store.

Nasty bathroom stick next to beverage cups.

This restaurant is so worried someone might use their restroom that they pass a key which is attached to a large piece of wood back and forth across the same counter they pass your food across. Pretty nasty if you think about it...............

great service . opened early for us !!

Sandwiches are good. Overall appearance is good. Some staff are loud and inconsiderate. Tables weren't cleaned.

Fast, typically friendly and a convenient proximity to Ryer Island (where I work most of the week). Not much else to say.

This place gives me exactly what I expect from a Subway: a relatively good sub sandwich, friendly staff, good prices, and a clean store.

Only bad part was the rude elderly vegetarian and the lack of reality this woman displayed.

I wasn't able to eat much since I just had dental work, but my daughter really enjoyed her eggs Benedict. She also got a vanilla gelato with fudge and was obsessed. The portions were generous and everything looked as good as it tasted. Even the classic breakfast with eggs, bacon, and potatoes was done really well, simple but full of flavor. The atmosphere really stood out to me too. I loved all the artwork throughout the space, especially the vintage Italian pieces, and the marble in the bathroom was a beautiful touch. It feels cozy, welcoming, and thoughtfully put together. Overall, such a great experience. We will definitely be back!

We were told that we could seat ourselves at any available table. Right away we realized the the bar it adjoined to the restaurant with a small entry way. We did not visit that area during our visit but we are aware for future visits. During this time it seemed as though the two hostesses that were working, split the areas. It helped where needed. Once we placed our food and beverage orders, it wasn't long after that we were presented with everything. All was enjoyable, not over cooked or over salted or bland. Was enjoyed. Even their freshly made generous portions of dessert. With all pictured for two people the bill was around $80. They are in a good spot of town, as you can take a little stroll by the water after your meal if weather permits.

Yesterday was a different thing, though. It was cold outside, so we decided to eat in the dining room. It took FIFTY MINUTES to get our food. The time stamp on my receipt said 6:30pm. At 7:00pm, I went to check on our order and she said it was coming up, but then started to hand me someone else's order. When I told her what we'd ordered, she looked at the order wheel and said, "Oh, yours is next." Then it took another 20 minutes to make two burgers, a side of fries, and a side of onion rings. That's just too long, especially since the dining room was freezing cold, too. We asked if the heat could be bumped up, but she said something like, "Sorry, but they lock it so we can't adjust it." The burgers were good, but it was just too damned cold. We will be back, but not until the weather warms up. Maybe in April or May.

If you've ever driven through Rio Vista, you've probably heard of Foster's Bighorn (and if you…read morehaven't stopped in yet, you should.) Foster's Bighorn is a local peeps restaurant and bar. It houses a private collection of over 300 big game specimens from Africa and North America, making it a great place to see what big game hunting looked like in the 1930s. The moment you walk in, you're surrounded by world-class trophies covering the walls near the ceiling. It's unlike any other dining atmosphere around in the east bay. For me, this place is pure nostalgia. My dad used to bring me here once a year when he had business in Rio Vista. I remember being completely fascinated by all the trophies mounted on the walls. Large game hunting wasn't something my family participated in, but growing up in a farming family, animals raised for food were a normal part of life. Even so, the quality and quantity of the collection always left me in awe. Going back as an adult, I can say that feeling hasn't changed. The collection is still impressive. This visit, we kept it simple with drinks and appetizers. My friend ordered a margarita on the rocks, and I had a pale ale. Both were delicious and reasonably priced. The bar itself is a classic 65-foot bar that feels like it belongs in another era. For food, I had the Caesar salad, and we split the ten-inch pepperoni pizza. The pizza featured roni cups and felt like a solid, classic appetizer-style pizza . The side Caesar salad was a great portion with crisp lettuce, shaved Parmigiana, and crunchy croutons, simple and tasty. Foster's Bighorn offers a Chop House style menu for lunch and dinner, making it a great spot for a quick bite or a full sit down dinner. I'd absolutely go back: first for the nostalgia, second for the drinks, and third for the food. It's a one-of-a-kind place that feels like stepping into history while enjoying a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere.

Compared to our last visit, the new-ish owner had brightened up the entire place, now with more emphasis on the restaurant, but still with it's huge bar. We probably didn't need a reservation, but we were greeted by the name on the reservation, probably because we looked like we were the only ones who would bother to make a reservation for three. Chicken marsala, fish and chips and lamb chops were all excellent, as was our server. The owner came by our table to check on our experience and confirmed that he had initiated the changes that we had noticed, as well as some that we hadn't. If you like seeing the animal trophies from a bygone era, this is a great place to have a drink or a meal.
