I took advantage of the FLBOGO deal at Subway today and it was absolutely worth it! I ordered a Footlong Tuna and a Footlong BMT (Spicy Italian), and my total came out to just $8.78--an amazing price! I live right across the street, so I just walked over to pick it up. Perfect timing and I'm saving money on gas too--especially with prices around $3.78 a gallon on Freeway Dr. The food was delicious! I've been eating Subway since the 80s, and lately they've really been coming through. The last couple of times, my subs haven't been skimpy on the meat at all--honestly looked like I paid extra when I didn't! I've started ordering online for pickup, so maybe that's the secret. Both sandwiches were fresh, packed with flavor, and made just right. Service was fast and everything was ready when I got there. I ordered a DoorDash from here tonight. 2 sandwiches, one for me the other for my husband. His was okay, not the best but he ate it. Sorry to be so long winded. I'm certainly not one that publicly complains. But, after my encounter last night, I felt the need to "share" my recent outlandish experience with a Fast Food chain located in Reidsville on Freeway Drive. For something different, we decided to have Subway sandwiches for dinner. I sent a text with the exact way I wished for my sandwich to be made and the person placing the order for me READ EVERY WORD from my text to the Subway employee of how I wished my sandwich to be prepared. When I opened my sandwich, I noticed that sauces were oozing out of the sandwich and all over the paper it was wrapped in. I never ask for extra sauces and clearly stated in my text for small amounts. I could get past that, to a degree, but when I noticed that the sauce looked different than what I'd asked for, I touched the paper and tasted to find that this was some type of Buffalo Sauce or some spicy sauce, which I can't eat. I asked for Vidalia and Honey Mustard. I wanted cheese bread, and got white bread, as they stated they didn't have any cheese bread and would not be baking any right away. The more I think about the increased cost of everything these days, and for that we should get what we're paying for, I decided that I shouldn't have to eat a sandwich that was not at all to my liking, so I decided to take it back to the store and have them make another. I started calling them as soon as I got in my car so that they would know I was coming, order exactly what I needed over the phone and it would be ready when I got there. The phone rang until it cut off. I continued to call, 6 times I called. When I pulled up to the window, the phone was still ringing and when the girl came over to the window, reluctantly I must say, she opened the window and I told her that the phone she hears coming from my phone was me calling them. Before I could finish saying that, she cut me off and rudely said, "Our phones don't work". I asked if she had anyone take a look at it and she responded, "Yes, we've had it looked at and it still doesn't work, but besides, WE DON'T HAVE TIME TO ANSWER THE PHONE, WE'RE TOO BUSY." She then said, "what do you need"? By this time, I had lost my desire for another sandwich and just explained that my sandwich was not as ordered, I handed her the bag containing my sandwich, and asked if I could just have my money back. She just stared at me, at first, and then commented, "How can it not be right, if he was standing right here when we made it"? Whoever made the sandwich picked up the wrong sauce, it was as simple as that. But I explained that there was a sauce on it that I cannot eat, so please just refund my money. Her attitude was so rude, I did say that if she would just give my money back I would never come back there again. She said "that's fine, you don't have to come back here". She said she would need to call her manager, since there was no way the sandwich could be wrong because the person that ordered watched it being made. Could it not have actually been a mistake of what sauce they may pick up? She didn't think so, so I waited for her to call her manager. She was very loud and everyone in the store could hear this conversation. She finally came back to the window, talking to her manager and I could hear everything she was saying, without the window being opened, and then hung up, opened the window and told me she was not authorized to give refunds and that I would need to speak with her manager. I asked if there was a manager on duty and she said "No". She said she would need to get my name and phone number and she would have her manager call me when she comes back to work. I offered my name and number and asked that, since the manager was just on the phone, have her call me while I'm there. She then said that her manager would not call me until she was ON THE CLOCK. I asked for the District Manager's name and the Manager's name and she would not give it to me, but she did tell me that one of the managers owns the store, and all the other stores. I asked if she was telling me that this manager owns all Subways in the US and she said yes. Then I asked again, "Are you saying that your manager owns all Subways". She said that was I twisting her words and shut the window in my face. Another girl opened the window and wanted to know what was going on and said she would not refund my money, but she would take my name and phone number. I asked if they really didn't care about customer service any more than this and expressed that I couldn't understand if they have the merchandise, why they can't just give me my refund and we are done. I even threatened to go to the media about this terrible service and both girls had responded, "Go ahead". I expressed that if I don't hear from a manager by Wednesday, since this is July 4th, that I would show up there every day. Thought I would give these guys a chance at redemption after the nightmare drive-thru experience I had here back in April. About 6 months ago I hit the drive-thru for what I thought would be a quick & simple order, a ft long "Subway Club" & a ft long "BLT Sub". Got home & found the "BLT" was just bacon & mayo on bread, no "L" lettuce or "T" tomato on the sub at all & the "Club" had a 6 inch long black hair wrapped around it to add insult to injury. I expressed my displeasure via email on the corporate web-site & 2 weeks later I received a phone call of apology from this particular franchises owner. He also mailed me 2 coupons for a free 6inch sub each, but I was afraid to go back until now. He apologized for the hairy sub & informed me that if you order a "BLT Sub" & do not specifically say you want lettuce & tomato on it, they do not put it on there, which is rediculous, as lettuce & tomato is part of the name of the sandwich duh. They should just call it a "Bacon Sub" if you have to specifically ask for "L" & "T". So we gave them another chance tonight, but went inside so we could see them make our order & make sure it was right. 2 ft long "Steak & Cheese" subs, a salad & they had a deal on 12 chocolate chip cookies for $5 so we got a dozen of those to go also. Got both subs toasted, but the bread wasn't toasted long enough to brown, it just dried it out like a stale roll, as for a dozen chocolate chip cookies, they only had 8 available, had to throw in 4 of other varieties to make a dozen, which really wasn't a problem, but if you see your cookie stock is getting low, that should be a hint to fire up the oven. I will not be back to this location. I have made three different attempts to give this place a chance, and it was disappointing every time. The first attempt, I tried the drive-thru, which took over 15mins with only 2 cars in front of me, and when I got home, my sub wasn't right. The second attempt I went during my lunch break, which I get an hour for. I literally spent half of my lunch break in this place waiting before I finally walked out with my sub. My final attempt was tonight, with my family. We barely made it close enough for our eyes to focus on the menu before one girl was asking what did we want, like we were holding her up, even though we were the only ones in there. I told her we were just looking right now. She then asked "well do you have an idea of what you may want?." Again I said we're looking. She then proceeded to ask did we know what type of bread we wanted. Just kept rushing us, to the point we were pretty much forced to order. She had so much of an attitude that another lady took over and made our subs. Everything was fine until I ordered a kids meal for my daughter. She made the sub so tiny, it could fit into a cookie bag. I know because that's what she put it in. Then the previous girl who had the attitude took over at the register, and bagged everything together.
