Ordered two subs, one steak & cheese the other tuna, through the mobile app pick up option. Drove home only to find both subs to be steak & cheese. Boyfriend and I are not the type to complain about food or service, especially during the stress of this pandemic but decided to call the store to ask how they could address the issue. If it were a mistake with a topping or bun we wouldn't have called but messing up the actual sub is a pretty big deal as I am trying to limit my meat intake (hence why I ordered tuna).
Boyfriend called only for an awkward conversation, the male employee asked for us to return the incorrect sub for the new one. I found this to be ridiculous as considering the Covid circumstances, that returned sub would have went straight to the garbage. I don't mind wasting more gas and another 20 minutes of my life driving back, it's just the thought of how they are okay with easily dumping a footlong in the garbage.
When my boyfriend questioned the employee about returning the incorrect sub, the employee said "What would you like me to do about it?" That smart aleck, passive aggressive remark is exactly why I choose to waste 5 minutes of my life writing this review. He finally agreed to give us the tuna without having to return steak & cheese.
Boyfriend when back to get the correct sub, the female employee even questioned as to why my boyfriend didn't return the sub after she acknowledged she made the wrong sub.
When you go to McDonalds or Tim Hortons and they completely mess up your order, when have they ever asked for you to return the food? Especially during Covid where there should be minimal contact.
I am not upset at the situation, I just hope either the employee, franchise or company change their policies when these types of mistakes are made. Especially during this pandemic where people are even hungrier, there is no need to go out of your way to throw away a meal.
On a brighter note, both subs were made extremely well and tasted very fresh, thank you. read more
