We've been here several times recently for breakfast subs or lunch. Good food and fast friendly service each time.

Subway in Park Rapids has really gone down hill. I got a sandwich today that shouldn't even be considered a sandwich.

I met the rudest cashier I've ever encountered at a Dairy Queen ordering food for my family here…read more She was short and angry in each of her responses. She couldn't be redirected to be more respectful even when I went out of my way to be polite, despite her rudeness. She would not return a smile. Here's the thing: people don't expect awesome food from this place. They expect simple treats with consistency, and a positive family-oriented experience. Being treated rudely in front of your family as a paying customer for no logical reason is the last thing you expect from DQ. The people working at the location near my home are extremely nice. All the other people I've met in this town are exceptionally polite. If I owned this location, I would be rushing to address this before it becomes the brand for my store. Maybe it already is. It was quiet - few other customers around, yet it was an inconvenience to the cashier. The person who actually made the food was fast, and it was as expected. The cashier, by contrast, almost made me drive away halfway through ordering. I would drive out of my way for similar food and treats before I came back to this location. I don't think I've ever had a negative experience at a DQ until today. Congratulations to this cashier, you won't need to deal with me again! If you are so bothered by customers, try a different type of job where they don't interact with you.

As we reached the window to pay, my husband politely asked the same employee who took our order if we could add a chocolate shake. Her response was, "We don't add on to orders up here." This was puzzling, so we asked again for clarification, and she reiterated that we would need to drive back around to place a new order--even though there were no other cars in line. In an effort to accommodate the request without causing further disruption, we backed up in the drive-thru and placed a separate order for the shake. When we reached the window again, we noticed one of the kids' meals was missing from our original order. The same employee insisted we had not ordered two kids' meals and again seemed unwilling to correct the issue. Only after some back and forth did she reluctantly add it, but not before making a rather unprofessional comment: "This is the last time we are going to add on to your order." To be clear, we were not asking for anything unreasonable--just the basic flexibility and courtesy that should accompany any customer service interaction. We left feeling as though we were treated as an inconvenience rather than paying guests. While I understand the demands of fast food service, professionalism, respect, and a willingness to help should not be optional--regardless of the position held. If this individual were representing my business, I would be deeply concerned about the impression being left with customers.
