***** I heard from a few people that the apple pie here was wonderful, so after lunch I stopped in for an apple pie with caramel sauce and espresso. The playhouse and patio are so cute and quaint, a wonderful place to grab a snack. I was joined by a handsome rooster - a little cheeky but polite... I shared some of my palmier with him and he seemed to appreciate it. I don't think this was his first. After my espresso I went back and found some wonderful souvenirs including t-shirts, hoodies, jackets and there were so many home items that I wanted but knew they wouldn't fit in my suitcase. However, I also bought a wonderful children's book "Dorianne and Edgar save Noel on the Island of Orleans" by local author Martine Patoine and it is delightful. I didn't realize I had a problem with the copy and luckily I was parked right next to the author and her husband and adorable dog gave me a perfect brand new one from their car . How lucky! A delicious apple pie and coffee, a wonderful apple pie and coffee, a wonderful shop and lots of goodies inside!

Having just spent 6 days in the Charlevoix area, this is really a place I wish I went to more often…read morewhile I was there. FOOD A Chacun Son Pain is a bakery that also has prepared sandwiches and other menu items that can be purchased. On my first visit, I went for breakfast and purchased an egg sandwich which gets toasted in their wood burning oven (which they also use for pizzas which I didn't try). Of course, since it being a bakery, I also picked up a chocolate croissant or two (okay, yes, there were two). Everything I had was good, the sizes of some of the bakery items are quite large, and on top of all that, everything is pretty cheap (considering how good it is and the sizes)! A second visit had me purchase just bakery items and a loaf of really good chocolate chip and blueberry bread (really tasty when toasted with butter). They have quite a few prepared sandwiches which you can get toasted in the oven or, even better, have as takeout. This is a great idea if you are spending the day sightseeing and doing activities (i.e. hiking in the nearby provincial park). While I didn't try them, they also have nice looking desserts as well (creme brule, etc.). And again, everything seemed really affordable. If you are thirsty, they have a full coffee menu (espresso, latte's, etc.). On the downside though, they do not have decaf coffee or espresso. This we found was pretty much the norm for everywhere in town. Even the local grocery store only had two types of decaf coffee SEATING They have indoor and outdoor seating if you want to stay and eat. PARKING There is lots of parking available. For biking as well I assume since so many people bike in the area. --- What else can I say? For sure I would definitely recommend it and would go back if I was in the area. The bakery items are great. They offer great lunch items which can be eaten in, taken home, or packed for a day of activities. All that and at a decent price.

This is the kind of place I like to find on the road which offers healthier alternatives: Fresh sandwiches made with their home made fresh breads... fresh salads that are pretty tasty, and their espresso is fantastic. I would have given this place 4 stars, but I find them a bit too insistent on tips...

Before I start - if you come here (and I highly recommend you do), you MUST ABSOLUTELY get the…read morehamburger du coin (this is their burger made with duck and pork) - see below for detailed explanation of why this burger is so good. We came to this place based on yelp reviews and couldn't be happier with our meal. This is snack/food bar that specializes in duck, foie gras and black garlic. The service was good and pretty quick. There's really only 3 people working - a cook in the back, a lady taking and handing out orders at the front and, I suspect, the owner who is out and about cleaning up and handling the tasting of black garlic inside a different area. The owner was particularly friendly, striking up conversations with patrons. We got 3 items: 1) foie gras poutine. Very good poutine - fries appear to be hand cut and freshly fried, gravy is tasty without being overly salty and cheese curds are perfect ( if they are not perfect in Quebec, something has gone terribly wrong). There is a small bit of arugula and on top of that sits one piece of foie gras. It's really good foie gras that goes will with the poutine but just wish there was more! We did get a small so not sure if the amount of foie gras changes. At 10$ for a small, it's somewhat pricey for what you get but then again - Foie gras. 4.5/5 2) smoked duck hot dog (hotdog canard fumee). We are told that the smoked duck is ground down to make the sausage. This is placed in a toasted hot dog bun and topped with lots of arugula. This was delicious. Really enjoyed the smoked duck flavor in the sausage and is nicely balanced against the arugula. 5/5. 3) hamburger du COIN - this is an amazing burger. I got to speak to the owner about how it was so good and he explained what goes into this hamburger. First, the bun is made of a black garlic brioche ( I just thought it was whole wheat - the black garlic is not super powerful but makes the burger more special). Next, the hamburger patty is a mixture of duck and pork which is SOUS VIDE for an hour (I can not emphasize how impressed I am that this road side food bar takes the time to sous vide their burger patties prior to grilling them). When you order, they do the final grill and serve it - no wonder why it's perfectly pink throughout the middle! Then there is the cheese which the owner says is specially brought in from a specific flock of cows which there are only 3 herds of in Quebec. Then, there is the amazing foie gras. Topped with some fresh slices of tomatoes and arugula to balance the fatty foie gras and smooth cheese. This is an amazing burger - it costs $15 which is actually really good considering what you're getting. A must try if you like duck and foie gras. Decent amount of parking at this place but we were here closer to 1:30-2pm on a Sunday so it wasn't too busy. Lots of picnic benches to sit and eat. There is a dog that likes to go around and eat scraps but he appears very calm and doesn't really bother people. They also sell black garlic and there appears to be a freezer with some duck products if you brought a cooler to take things back home. Summary: Get the hamburger du COIN for sure if you come here. And you should come here!

The lady at the cashier did not speak a lot of English but she was very sweet and I was able to order by pointing at the picture of the menu. It felt like I was out for a picnic. You just point at whatever is calling you. There was line, but the line moves swift. Is it strange that I get happy and excited when I meet fellow Filipinos. I find comfort in meeting them and it always feels like meeting family away from home. There was a group of them working at this bakery in Stoneham. They were all smiles and very welcoming to me the English speaker in this French speaking province. If you're in the Quebec City and you have your own car, I recommend a visit to Pascal and working off your carb loading with a walk through Jacques Cartier National Park.
