But being in the south i felt it necessary that I run the taste test and find out who makes the best chicken fingers. Honestly, I love Zaxby's! Everything about them was spot on. The breading was just right, not overcooked, the fries were perfect, and the Texas toast was ideal. They totally made me forget about Canes while I was there! Did I mention the sauce? I very much liked the sauce, but i chose sauce with no spice. I can be a spice guy but I opted out on it because I wanted to get the real flavor of the chicken. So, I suppose when I'm in the north I'm a Canes guy. When I'm in the south I'm a Zaxby's guy. And when I'm in the middle I'll live with the tension.

Not only do they use Vienna Beef hot dogs but they use Vienna Beef poppyseed buns. That is truly legit. Also had the Italian Beef. It was good, not great, but very good. We also had an order of breaded mushrooms and onion rings. Both hit the spot. The onion rings were probably higher rated, and according to the fellas who work there, they are beer battered. And thank God they don't try to force ranch dipping with these like other spots do. Ketchup is the appropriate dipping for both shrooms and rings. Highly recommend them, will be going back. A lot.

We were originally thinking of a sit-down breakfast, but my partner is a full-blown biscuit enthusiast. If we see biscuits, we try the biscuits. So we stopped in, and the woman behind the counter was incredibly friendly and welcoming. We grabbed a ginormous biscuit for just over $3. She had all the single-serve jams and jellies ready to go, which I appreciated. We took it back to the car to eat. First impression: this thing requires two hands. It's massive. She had already sliced it for us, and when I opened it up, you could see the buttery pockets where it melted into the dough while baking. It wasn't ultra-layered and flaky like a laminated biscuit, but it was perfectly soft on the inside with a beautiful crunch on the outside. The flavor was spot on!!! Soft, warm, buttery and comforting. We added a little jam, though honestly it didn't even need butter. It was that good.
