This place is unreliable and does not adhere to any schedule.... I have come at 845 pm and at times 830 pm and the doors are locked and they are closed.. The empolyees are inside and don't offer any explanation as to why they are closing early... This is not an isolated incident this has happened many times... I wanted to make this my "go-to" lunch spot in the area, but after my 1st visit I don't think that I'll be back. Let me start off by saying that I'm a walking food poisoning detector, due to having 7 bouts with it in the past. Not proud of that, but it has given me a "sixth sense" as to when food is spoiled. All it takes is a good 3 to 4 bites. Anyways, after the 4th bite of my sandwich my stomach started to turn. Probably would have discovered it sooner had my sandwich not been drenched with mayo and mustard, but I digress. Mani &Harry I don't usually leave negative reviews, but after my recent experience at your shop, I felt I had no other way to reach someone in management.When I visited, the store was nearly empty.I was the only person ordering, with just two other customers already seated and eating. Unfortunately, the employee assisting me, Sahan, was dismissive and unhelpful throughout the interaction.I ordered a sandwich and politely asked for no tomatoes or pickles, and requested to add onions and avocado. I made it clear I was happy to pay any additional charge. I was told the sandwich "comes the way it comes" and that no substitutions could be made except removing items. During this exchange, Sahan explained that she couldn't make changes because "the computer doesn't let her." That explanation was frustrating, especially since mayonnaise was added upon request without issue. It was confusing to be told nothing could be added or changed, while changes were clearly possible in other cases.I understand staff often have to follow system guidelines, but from a customer's perspective, it feels unreasonable when simple, paid add-ons are treated as impossible. Point-of-sale systems are tools meant to support service, not prevent it, and a willingness to problem-solve or offer alternatives would have made a big difference.What was most disappointing was not just the refusal, but the overall attitude and lack of care in the interaction. I ordered the "Customize Your Own Sub Platter" online for 7 people which allowed me to pick 5 different sandwiches from a select list (tuna, cold cuts, turkey breast, black forest ham, and Italian BMT--ham, pepperoni, and salami) along with the bread (Italian or multigrain), the toppings (lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, red onions, cucumbers, spinach, green peppers, and black olives), type of cheese (white American cheese, provolone, and shredded Monterrey cheddar cheese), and condiments (mayonnaise and mustard). I received very rude service here today. I've been going to this subway for over ten years and they know me here. Today I was getting two sandwiches, and when the lady asked me if I wanted my second one toasted I remember specifically saying "no not toasted, not that one," because the first one I did want toasted and it was already in the oven. Well I guess when she took the first one out of the oven, she popped in the second one. I did not see as I was already moving up to figure out what I was going to put on my sandwich that just came out of the oven. I was wondering why my other sandwich was just sitting there while we waited for the first one to toast but I didn't want to seem rude by telling the lady who was making the sandwiches to work, I just figured she wanted to make the toasted sandwich first for whatever reason. When I finally noticed my second sandwich coming out of the oven I let her know I didn't want it toasted. The marinara sauce was all gone into the bread. I let her know I had asked for that one to not be toasted. She was aggressively wrapping up the sandwich to put it away, she hastily put it on the other counter bordering slamming it, she angirly walked back to the bread fridge to get more bread out now waving her hands in front of herself and at me in anger practically yelling "you should have told me you didn't want it toasted!!!" Now she's pissed as hell. Now I'm in defense mode still repeating myself that I DID say that I did not want that one toasted. She took no accountability in the situation not even letting it go under the premise that perhaps she misheard me or that it was a miscommunication. Everything was my fault. She rudely made my new sandwich and rudely checked me out. She was practically throwing the stuff my way with a nasty look on her face. **Consistently disappointing** This has to be one of the WORST Subway locations on the planet. When a new family took over the location many months ago, it seemed like they had all their family and friends on deck, helping with the biz. Not a bad thing, until... They were making their sandwiches "by the book," for a while. Anyone who knows Subway knows that your standard, say, Turkey Breast 6-inch will get 4 slices of meat, 2-3 slices of cheese, and toppings to your preference. Here, they were stopping at 2 slices of cheese, every time. They would give you a small little lump of lettuce, and add things 3 at a time... For example, I asked for "a whole lot of bell peppers," they added three pieces. When I asked for more, they added two more pieces. I just blinked at my "Subway Sandwich Pro." Three times, I've come in late night, after work, and their cash register is "rebooting" or something. It takes this thing--I shit you not--up to 15 minutes to reboot. I've left my sandwich at the counter, because these dudes can't get their shit together. It should be said, I've NEVER experienced this at any other location... Even at exactly the same hour. ((I, instead, went to the Subway just south of Venice, on Sepulveda. They were quick and efficient.)) The last visit, though, just made me blow my stack. When I arrived, I was already pissed off because I couldn't get service for at least five minutes at the service deli, in Vons, so I opted for Subway. That's enough to bum ANYONE out. The world's slowest, crankiest couple on the planet, was in front of me. They built each sandwich as if they were wearing ear pieces and waiting for instructions, one by one, from someone watching remotely from off site. ------------------- "What kind of sandwich would you like, sir" the clerk asks. Meanwhile, his wife was doing practically the same thing. It was painful to watch--compounded by the fact that I was desperately starving (hence, Subway). It all came to a royal crescendo when the man couldn't figure out how to swipe his card. The cashier assisted him, and he got all defensive, beginning to holler at the cashier in Spanish. Did the managers do anything? No, they just looked on, looked away, and put chintzy amounts of toppings on MY sandwich. Argh! It got better when they began to fight with the cashier; this time over the coupon. I don't speak Spanish, but they were getting pissed. They were grabbing the coupon from one another and pointing angrily at it. I did something I rarely do. I kinda scooted them off-stage, after they paid. I just kinda hip-bumped the lady, like, "Hey.... Move it. You're done, here." In the middle of my transaction, the lady comes back up and asks for more napkins. The cashier obliges and says, "Adios." The lady DEMANDS two more napkins. Two. Asshole. Finally, I'd just been there long enough. The cashier asked if I wanted it for-here or to-go, and I said, "To-go, fast, get me the fuck out of here." He ended up over-charging me. I didn't realize it until I got home, took a deep breath, and asked myself, "Isn't $6.50 expensive for a 6" Turkey?" The prick charged me $1.50 for extra meat that SURE AS SHIT wasn't on my chintzy anemic sandwich. If I wasn't absolutely famished and looking to never enter that cheap, rude, garbage dump again, I would've driven over there and thrown that fucking sandwich at him! Come to think of it, I would've broken it in half; sent half into the manager's face, and half into the incompetent cashier's face. Idiots. This place is a complete shit show. Run by operators who are too cheap to make the grade, even at a SUBWAY. You guys screwed up 4 out of the last 5 times I've gone there. That makes me an idiot, as well. I love this Subway and I'm in here a lot! It's clean, the staff are friendly and totally remember who you are. The food is your usual Subway fare but there aren't any Subway pizzas, one of my personal favorites. If you're looking for Subway pizzas you can find them at the Subway on the corner of Washington and Overland by LA Fitness. (Yes, I went to five Subways before I finally found them) Pro tip: have them scoop the bread out of your bread if you're not so keen on carbs, especially if you get the meatball marinara. I was in here about an hour ago and I got some ice and I noticed there was black stuff floating in my cup so I poured the ice out and got some more. Then I noticed more black stuff so I was like WTF so I poured it out and did it again and found more black stuff so I pulled out an ice cube and it was covered in black and gray mold!!!!!! Just got home from buying a foot long meatball sub from this place. Seriously, why are you guys stingy with your meatballs? I got 4 meatballs in a footlong!! How sad. Half my footlong was just bread and lettuce. The rule is about 4 meatballs for each 6" sub...and they stiffed me by 4 meatballs. Lol! For me this subway is the best one in the area by far. Most subways are all the same but to be real this location has the best bread. Everytime I go here the bread is fresh. I must admit that they are kinda stingy when it comes to their food but I love how fresh it is. Sometimes u go to a subway and the bread is stale. In most cases I just chose the bread that they just cooked because I hate stale bread. This place is the best subway to me cause the location is very low key but I hate the parking lot.
