I got home and absolutely devoured two all dressed hot dogs, and honestly one of the best poutines I've had. This isn't haute-cuisine, but the fries, gravy and curds were perfect; just the right amount of greasy and delicious. A good poutine is almost one solid chunk, and this was right on that line. Definitely must try if you're in Montreal. All the flavors of Quebec fast food absolutely done right.

Located in the middle of a residential area we weren't sure what to expect. But seeing a lineup out the door for a 'cash only' establishment that was a good sign. I decided to walk down Rue Saine-Catherine to see if anything stood out to me. Patty Slaps caught my eye as soon as I passed it, and since burgers sounded good we decided to check it out. Patty Slaps is a fast casual spot. Walking in, we were greeted by a large, open space with communal tables the main production area towards the back. Ordering is done on kiosks up front - the menu is somewhat limited, but they have several types of burgers which are able to be customized to your liking. I didn't want to get too big of a burger, so I went with the Patty Jr. and customized some of the sauces. The burger itself was good, albeit I'm glad I got the junior size as it was a little too greasy for my liking - it had that glazed doughnut look. We also got some poutine to share which was good but not the best I've had in the city. Service was fast, and overall I enjoyed my meal at Patty Slaps. It's good for what it is, and I wouldn't be mad if circumstances found me here in the future.

I visited their second day after opening and wasn't informed that it was cash only until after I ordered which was an annoyance. There was a delay in my order as the new register had an issue, but they should have begun cooking my order while trying to figure it out rather than make the customer wait the extra time. The food itself was quality and tasty! I tried the wings (jerk) which came with an order of fries (they actually looked like potatoes, not frozen!). It was sliiiightly pricey ($12 where I would expect it to maybe be $10) but not enough that it would push me away from ordering. They have ample seating and I'm sure they'll be quite popular once they're fully operational.

That is NOT the case at this Wendy's: these employees dun give a FK and it shows. I still give it 2 stars 'cuz every once in awhile they are surprisingly on their game. But most of the time they make me soooo mad. When a place makes me actually choose McD's over Wendy's... U know it's bad. The food takes forever; the burgers are thrown together like sh*t, they're cold; you ask for hot sauce and crackers and cheese for your chilli: you maybe get one packet of crackers if you're lucky; the fountain soda is off balance either too much soda or too much syrup; the employees are not happy or friendly to see u either. When everything goes wrong. *le sigh* I get my cravings for a junior bacon cheeseburger with chilli and cheese, so I come here....and get crap that makes me wish I had ordered McDs instead. Boooo. The brown paper bag was soaked through with grease. Some might say that's a good thing, but I ordered my bun Dry, which I assumed meant toasted. Imagine my surprise when I peel back the wrapper and it's not just soft, but sodden. Couple that with the incredibly small, soggy, unsalted 1 inch fries, and I cannot say I'm a satisfied customer. The best I can say about the food was that it was edible, which is the lowest bar to clear in these times where a meal out is more a luxury than ever, and it's the only reason I'm not rating this a one. The fact that this experience single-handedly motivated me to make a Yelp account should speak for itself. I hope for all the regulars that this is just an outlier, but I will not be taking the chance again in the future.
