Its located in an old burger chain, I think a former Burger King not that this matters. Its completely rebuild and looks nothing like a burger joint anymore. We have been in several times, (actually I've written a Yelp before but it has disappeared). And each time we have been impressed. There are so many Mexican restaurants in Joplin of very style and price point. Some offer really good interiors like its a theme part or movie set. Some are as simple as can be with authentic menu's and no effort to be fancy or touristy. Speedy is somewhere in-between. Some of the menu is typical of many American-Mex chains only better prepared. Then again some menu items are normally only found at authentic Tex-Mex, roadside and Southwestern style Mexican based in real family recipes and flavors you'd find south of the boarder. There is a small bar, service is friendly and prompt and the bright decor is refreshing.

No one at the grocery counter. Another customer and I finally had to push the buzzer to get someone to check us out. Back to the ice cream counter to pick up the shake. It is dripping everywhere, the lid is not on properly. I leave and give the shake to my husband in the car. It is melting at a furious rate even though it is not warm out at all. We got home and cleaned up the shake - it is virtually all milk. He said he would never go back. This is par for this location. I had a bad experience there when they first opened. The manager was told by headquarters to call and apologize to me and offer restitution. The manager was so horrible at this command she couldn't even figure out how to do that properly. I don't think it has improved much. Avoid this location and go to Braums at 24th and Rangeline where it is adequate.
