If you haven't been before, the vibe at Raising Cains is fun - think disco balls and Elvis art with a crown on top. The counter folks were all friendly, and I wasn't expecting that they would deliver food to our table, but they did. The food at Raising Cains was good, but didn't live up to all the hype for me. No complaints about the food, it was good. But my expectations were fairly high after hearing lots of folks talk about it. The chicken was crispy and not greasy as fried food can be. The fries were good -not soggy and not overcooked. I'm still assessing my thoughts about the sauce. I didn't feel like I was overwhelmed by the taste, but I did keep going back to it and dipping my fries and chicken in it until it was all gone. So maybe I liked it more than I realized? I'd give it a solid 3.5 stars. This was a 35 minute drive for me, so I'm not sure I'd go out of my way to do this again because of the distance. But we had a good meal here and a pleasant experience.

Keep in mind that many of the dishes they serve are very calorie dense, so it's easy to feel a 900 calorie bowl is too small. I came to this location purely out of convenience at the front end of lunchtime and found everything to be clean, quick, and good. The only surprise is that the location isn't busier at this hour, but there were several takeout orders picked up while I was in. They seem to do steady business without any type of rush, so that makes it an easy choice if you want to avoid a busy lunch crowd.

The portions were minuscule. The food had zero flavor. Pesto should be bursting with flavor of garlic, basil, cheese and olive oil. This food was a watery mess that had zero flavor. Not even salt and pepper. Usually food like this is at least salty. This was covered in green water. I don't like being so critical but I really want to let people know that they should avoid this restaurant. This was my first time having food from here and it will be the last. There are some there restaurants in the area. Choose them instead.

If you're looking for a freshly made sandwich on great bread with quality cold cuts, this is the place. If you're expecting a typical Subway-style franchise sandwich, keep driving. That was the best spot to get some food to recharge, so I decided to take a walk down memory lane and get an Italian sub when I got off of work. The staff was inviting, and the place still looked and smelled the same as it did when I was a kid. There was plenty of meat on the sub with all the fixings, and of course, I complemented it with plain Middleswarth chips. Being from Pennsylvania, you have to eat it with Middleswarth chips! My mouth was drooling looking at the sub, even though the roll itself felt very hard. With the first bite, I went right down memory lane, sitting in my grandfather's green Ford Ranger. I scarfed it down, but well... I was disappointed. The bread was so hard that it almost scratched the roof of my mouth. The cheese was just bland, not bursting with flavor, and the salami and pepperoni slices had no flavoring to them at all. I think the only thing that saved it was the hot peppers that I added. To make matters worse, I also noticed the bathrooms were dirty, which is never a good sign. I also felt very slow and sluggish afterward. I don't think food is supposed to do that; food is supposed to give you energy, not slow you down. I do not recommend this place for a sub at all. I'd rather get one from a pizza shop or even Sheetz--and I think all Sheetz food tastes like cardboard, but that's just me. I hope my review helps you decide where to get your sub next!
