We came for lunch & waited maybe 20 minutes for our sandwiches. Famous Turkey Sub: O-M-G! So tasty! This is their most popular for a reason! We got 3 subs & we loved how stuff they were with protein! Meatball Sub: Flavorful! Chicken Parmigiana Sub: Yummy! Cheesy Garlic Bread: Carb load please! Loaded with cheese. Chocolate Chip Cookies: Freshly baked daily! Located in the McDonald's shopping center.

Not sure what happened late yesterday with the sandwiches. They were soaking wet on the bottom of each one. Even the one without lettuce and tomato. I believe they add dressing to their sandwiches but it's never been an issue. Each sandwich also didn't have the requested extra mayo (maybe they put extra dressing instead?). I called today to ask if there were any issues with other sandwiches and the manager said no. He said i should have ordered the sandwiches with dressing on the side next time and he couldn't offer to remake them for a future visit (we live 30 min away so it's a far drive). So there's two 12inch uneaten sandwiches oh well. We've ordered many times from them and the staff has always been amazing. Maybe it was placing the order late in day on Easter Sunday but bummer the manager today was dismissive and put blame on us.

Heard good things about the gluten free quiche, but wanted to try the Pesto chicken sandwich which I definitely recommend the Parmesan that they bake into the bread. It comes with a nice fruit cup and a delicious pickle. I also tried a mocha while waiting for my friends and they had alternative milks (oat & almond) if you need them. The best thing I tried was this amazing brownie cookie with peppermint pieces on top. AH-mazing!!! Would definitely return and will try and take photos next time,

Definitely some good sandwiches with perhaps a too high of a price tag for what you get…read more This place is located in the middle of Escondido as a little family owned restaurant. They serve a fair variety of sandwiches and other little items to buy such as coffee and cookies. The location is small with about a total of 5 seating areas including both inside, and out. For service they're all very friendly since it's primarily the family owners who serve you. You go up to the front and place your order and they'll bring the food you order to your table, they do close early since this is a breakfast spot first and foremost, so expect to arrive early if you want to eat here. I usually order The Works in a half since a full size sandwich is well over $20, excluding any additions or substitutions you may make. The sandwich does taste really good, but it does come at a steep price. They've grown in popularity over the years, which may have influenced their pricing (by a lot) which in my opinion does outweigh it's value. While I do enjoy my infrequent visits, I can say this location is more of an occasional treat, as opposed to a constant meal to be had often.

The location has a pretty extensive menu written in chalk on the walk, and it's easy to read. There are choices of sandwiches, salads and a lot of great food in-between. After taking a minute to decide we went with the Southwest Chicken Salad ($16.99) as well as the Hawaiian Chicken Sandwich ($15.99) with a side of hushpuppies. The sauce on the salad was flavorful with just a bit of zest, and they gave us extra so that was really cool. It's a really comfy place to eat with a little bit of a Louisiana feel to it. For good food served by good people, this is the place!

We found free parking on the street a block or two down from the restaurant. Service (4/5): You order at the counter and then they bring your food to you. A couple of things stand out to me about their service. I was looking at the menu and was about to order. Someone behind me cut in line without asking if I was ready to order. The lady working noticed this and asked me to order first. Humanity still exists! They also check on your periodically even though this isn't true table service which is a nice touch. On the flip side, they did try and upsell me to add bacon bits to my dish which I was all for until I saw it was a $3.50 upcharge. I asked them to remove it. A little too steep. Ambiance (4/5): My type of restaurant. Casual with some charm. We sat at a table across from the bar. They have some cool decor, too. No complaints. Drinks (4/5): I had a beer flight because I often can't say no to a flight. I love the variety and being able to try new beers, especially when I'm traveling. While they don't have a huge selection, they had just enough beers that were interesting for me to take the plunge. Food (4/5): I did the country poutine which comes with fries, gravy, fried chicken bites, and green onions. I'm a sucker for loaded fries so I couldn't say no. Especially for this twist on a classic poutine. Generous portion size as I had hoped. A little more chicken would have been nice, but outside of that, very solid.
