Wise, weathered and experienced; a full life heavily soaked with memories, stories and anecdotes. A life lived is the vibe J.J.'s gives. As I peruse the timeless passages in the store, I come upon shelves filled with a small eclectic variety of foods and sundries. Draft beer up front. Wine and beer varietals, many types and sizes of chips and a walk-in beer and wine cooler. The place has a welcoming, comfortable and casual feel throughout. Tables, chairs and a sofa reminiscent of Aunties or Grandma's place where you can slow your roll and reminisce. I was greeted by a friendly young man who confirmed I could order breakfast. On the boards overhead a long list of options. Mostly Wraps, Sanwiches and Salads. As well as a list of available breads. They are open from 8am to 8pm. Just before I ordered came an offer, "you can add or take off anything or choose any of the breads for any sandwich". I knew right away what I wanted. Extra Bacon BLT on pressed Cuban Bread. The results were sublime, every bite the same, the perfect crunch, uniform throughout, tempered by the exact proper portions of mayo, lettuce and tomato on warm pliable bread. Artistry for the palate and senses. I know a good sandwich when I taste one. My critique of sandwiches almost always centers and highlights the lack of ingredient order, quality, quantatative balance and construction. Thoroughly pleased, I decide to order take-out for my lunch and an omelet for my wife. I wanted an original, just as they make it, with no substitutions in order to test their further Mastery of Sandwichology. The Vito please, and since it's for lunch, mayo and dressing on the side to keep it dry. It was the closest they had to an Italian, my go to in all places that craft, meats and cheeses between 2 or more slices of bread. Hand crafted, artisenal, perfectly balanced, uniquely constructed , benefited by an abundance of trial and error and creative expertise that is only accomplished with substantial time and experience. The Vito was a lesson in the art of making a sandwich. Proportions and ingredients in perfect harmony. From the razor thin red onions and banana peppers to the quality of the constituents and the perfect order placement of the items. It was truly a masterful composition. I preffered it without the balsamic. Did I get lucky? Or is this what JJ's does daily. Can't wait to get back and find out. Plus, some extra money forsome of those items on the shelfs. Prices very reasonable and free parking out front. Come getcha some!

I think it's a better stop than the gas station if you're on the way to the beach. Though I did originally come here because I saw that they had gluten-free bread option, the gluten-free sandwich wasn't the best. I don't doubt that their gluten-full options are delicious. I would've just preferred the sandwich to be crispy. It was pretty soggy. But on the other hand, executing a gluten-free sandwich safely in a kitchen that has gluten is pretty challenging. I don't doubt that they did everything to cover the sandwich and prevent cross-contamination, which is probably the only reason it was soft instead of crispy. So I'm not shooting it down if you're looking for an option of something to eat and bring to the beach. Definitely go though if you're just looking for some beverages and chips, they had a lot of really cool stuff there!

This is small pizza place with only a few employees and a small seating area, the building is next to other businesses and by the Publix very close to where we stayed which was another reason we picked this for our dinner meal. This business has listed on their door and on yelp that they close at 10pm but upon arrival we were told they were closing at 9:30Pm, not that I was very disappointed because it felt like I was walking In to hell with how hot it was in there. I am not sure if their ac was working or they just had the ovens at full blast but it was a much better idea that we take the pizza with us and eat it else where, the girl at the counter was nice about them closing early. The pizza was pretty good and was not as greasy as other pizzas I have had that end up giving me a stomach ache,my sons really enjoyed the pizza and the large pizza was big enough for four people but the price came to $27 witch is a bit high for one large pizza. Overall, good pizza but a little pricey they also offer subs and salads and even wings in their menu. I will have to try something different when I visit this area again.

I get mine toasted so be sure to ask for that! The other thing I love about Gateway subs is they are local and they do so much to give back to the community. When USF St. Pete Science building was on fire this year, Gateway Subs hand delivered subs to the first responders on scene. Morgan happened to be in the shop I selected. Very random and very fun! Plus, secretly delicious! (I learned later, Morgan also happens to be a very approachable and enthusiastic co-founder and co-owner). We've been back many times. Recently was a special day, April 20, and they had a 4:20 special, a sub for only $4.20! We had to go! We were excited! We were nervous! Would the 4:20 line be insane? Would the workers be frazzled? No and No. Everyone was well organized, cranking out custom delicious subs and salads. Chatting with customers. Enjoying sub life! And... Who sliced the meat for our 4:20 subs? Morgan!? Hello again! We recognized each other and chatted a bit. Sub life is still good! Liz rang up my order and was very helpful and gracious. Plus, she had a way cool alien t-shirt on. A real alien, not the movie! Gotta love it! Today, we went for the latest special, the 7.27! Matt and Randy provided professional, friendly, patient and helpful service. They really kept everything moving, worked together well, and somehow found time to keep everyone there informed of where their subs were in the process. Plus, their choice in music was unique and amazing. You will have to go and experience it yourself! Life is good with the best local subs served by enthusiastic, excellent staff!

We repeatedly told the cashier it was our first time, but he acted completely annoyed, slouching over the register like we were interrupting his day, offering zero help or suggestions. We paid $47.06 for two Giant Italian Night Clubs. My daughter ordered hers with extra mayo, extra onion, extra lettuce, and oil on the side so the bun wouldn't get soggy. When we sat down, her sub barely had the standard amount of toppings, let alone "extra." When she politely went up to the counter to ask for the extra lettuce she ordered, a male employee looked her right in the face and argumentatively snapped, "There is 10x's the amount of lettuce and onions on that sam'wich," and refused to give her anything. To pay that much money just to be shorted on food, confronted argumentatively, and treated with pure disrespect is completely unacceptable. The staff is incredibly unprofessional. I am so thoroughly disappointed that I couldn't even eat my food, and I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau to seek a resolution. Stick to Jersey Mike's where they actually respect customers. We hit up several locations around town once in a while, however, my hubby, Sir Hubbers & his peeps, hit this location up all the time. They have been ordering from here for a couple years now & it's ok, but very very inconsistent with the quality of the foods. Some days the kabobs are ok but most of the time they are way overcooked. Depends on who's cooking, just very very inconsistent except for the salads & the lamb Gyros, they are always consistently great OuiOui. The best things to order here that are consistently great, is the salads & the lamb gyros. That's what he gets every time & that's what I get every time from this location. Yesterday my fave Greek place was closed & all day all I wanted was me Gyro! LOL So after a long day of Gyro suffering & still no satisfactory feels, I finally remembered that Sir Hubbers location "Little Greek" was open on Mondays & I could get me lamb Gyro here & satisfy moi yummy Gyro cravings! Hahahhahahaha :)... So I stopped by & got me lamb Gyro & it was so yummy! The service was excellent & I love that they serve real sea salt & peppercorns in the grinders here as condiments OuiOui. Little Greek is not moi first choice for Greek foods, however, it's a great second choice & a great value as the Lamb gyro is only $11.55 with tax & it's HUGE OuiOui.
