Pros: For one thing, it's open every day, and often one of the few options for food in Chama. And it's pretty much like any other Subway, so you know what you'll be getting. Cons: Every time I have been there, at least one and sometimes all of the employees are obviously high. Gave this Subway a FiveStar on the Subway scale. It was a large sit down with plenty of tables, clean bathrooms and good service: like a real restaurant. The serving counter was the usual Subway, the lead/manager was very nice and helpful. The food was the usual, had the meatball sandwich, it was good. This might be the first bad review I've ever written. Usually I only try to write them for great experiences. The owner who made our sandwiches wasn't just rude, he was aggressive . After not being able to hear our order (my friend has a slight Spanish accent) a few times asked if we wanted to "call the whole thing off". Be warned - you will pay airport prices at this Subway. We got a 6 inch tuna sandwich for $8.99 and a 12 inch veggie for.. get this.. $12.99!!! And none of the veggies were even fresh. The iceberg lettuce and cucumbers were brown. Ugh. read more

The best food in Chama? Certainly the nicest Subway I've ever been in. Clean, newish - looks like they took over a real restaurant - large dining room and attractive deck. Dependable quality and orders of magnitude better than the meal we had at Foster's Hotel the night before. (Heavy Mex, grubby looking eateries abound in Chama.) read more

We went in with my elderly mother on a Sunday afternoon. They were not busy at all and my mom made her way to a table. The managers husband approached her and my wife and rudely yelled at my mom and wife, "I just mopped you need to move!" There were NO wet floor signs, no mop or mop bucket in site and the floors were dry! He then rudely said loud enough for my mom and wife to hear, "Now I am going to have to mop again!" My mom did not hesitate to let him know how rude he was and that he did not need to YELL at them. We are locals and will NOT return or give them business as long as he is still working there. There is a way of asking someone to move and the RUDE way he did it was not the way. read more

My special-needs father stood in line at this Subway store, and he was completely ignored by the staff. Employees served everyone except my disabled father--- they acted like he was not even in the room. The Americans With Disabilities Act protects people like my father from being denied service because of their disabilities. What they did was against the law. read more

This a new location since we last came thru. This place is bigger, with two tvs, clean bathrooms and plenty of seating. The tall dude that made are sandwiches was very nice. The sandwiches are standard and likely low risk compared to other local establishments read more

Had the worse experience Eddie is very rude. tried to order online for the family this weekend - many calls later - we ended up everyone unhappy. my family did not get their food - this location lost a customer in me...and others (this is a small community and after relaying this story many said :"yup - they are rude there" and I hope if you visit this wonderful mountain community - you will eat somewhere else. basically they told me we don't have your order (I called to try and change pick up time - hours from original time so not last minute) then told f ME to call subway corporate to figure out- then they called corporate to figure out (no answer they said) then after much discussion - have your family come we will take their order then (messes up the whole point - i wanted to pay as gift) and for ME to call my bank to deal with refund...etc etc. Then OK - we will honor it have them show me your confirmation of payment (all along i offered this info and shared the order and confirmation numbers with them) - then they called UM NO - we cant since not showing up on system - how will i get paid? OMG! right - then it was like forget it!... - so GUESS WHAT?! at original order time - get a call "where are you -your order is ready" im like really - well they cant get it for 2 more hours - but not those sandwiches that will be old and soggy by then. arguments - no solutions offered (i offered many). Oh yeah told me "on my computer and we made it so you need to come pick it up". In the end i was told " Don't ever call here again". I won't. I have emailed corporate about this franchise and I understand I'm not the first to complain - and of course I posted on FB cause i have a very large community of folks on FB. I guess this place thinks can rely on In and out tourist - whom they can treat however cause they will never see them again.. Sad - as a former business owner - even when customers became difficult (toward the end i was a bit hot of course - but never cursed or yelled) I always tried to work it out in a professional manner if it was at all possible and I will add that most of the end result here is on EDDIE - and that the earlier manager - Donna I think - tried a little bit harder to work with me. read more

Went here first night in town and two hours before they closed they were out of meatballs. Out of meatballs ok, tried to go second night because almost nothing is open and what is open is crowded. There were two people on the clock, but one was working with customers and one was not (wasn't on a break). The one employee helping customers was making a bigger order. So after waiting around for awhile and not being help by the second employee, I left. Not very good customer service. read more
