After hearing so many good things, we finally tried By George last night. It's a smaller…read morerestaurant with a separate bar area and was decorated very cute for the holidays. We started with a few beverages. The toasted marshmallow old fashioned was delish, I really enjoyed it. Our service started out great but unfortunately didn't end as great as it started. We started with the grape leaves and were very disappointed, they had good flavor but very mushy. The dinners were good. My friend had the ravioli with meatballs which I didn't get a picture of but it looked amazing. They were very generous with the sauce (which I love a saucy dish)! I had the Penne Fra Diavolo which was nice and spicy but in a good way, I added the shrimp and chicken and preferred the shrimp. Large portion/brought home leftovers. The rolls served with dinner were really good too. Now here is where the problem lied, my husband ordered the ribeye steak (medium rare). It looked amazing but was overcooked. He told the waitress and she had another one made but by time it came out the rest of us were done eating. This is always a frustrating dining experience. Thankfully the second steak was cooked perfectly but the sides were on the cold (not sure if they were the original sides or new sides). But it's never great to watch everyone else eat and then have to have the rest of the table sit and watch you eat. Overall good drinks/food but not a wow-ing first experience.

We pulled in and was surprised how busy it was for a Wednesday. Surprisingly the wait was not long. Everyone who recommended lauded the gyro dip, so that was ordered immediately. We also ordered an onion soup. Wife and I split that. I had the Bershire Pork chop, wife had the surf and turf chicken, and daughter had spaghetti. Everything was very good! My pork chop was grilled perfectly and had a strip steak vibe, the surf and turf was also cooked perfectly with a nice cream sauce. Lastly, my daughter enjoyed her spaghetti. The portions were large and we all had leftovers. Now the gyro dip was good. Don't know if it was a must for our next visit, but good. However, the onion soup was one of the best I've ever had, and that's including high end restaurants. Get it if you like onion soup. We split a homemade candy bar cheese cake for dessert. The piece was huge and all three of us had a taste. Very good. Lastly, the prices are not unreasonable, and the service was very good. The staff speaks highly of the restaurant, and the staff helps each other out to ensure constant attentive service. We will definitely go again.

Lots of meat on a fresh roll. We tried the tuna our next time around and bang! It was one of the best tuna subs I have eaten. The owners are two friendly guys that take their product to Helltown to get the word out. I would like to go to their actual place next time I am in the Woodland Hills area.

We ordered the sandwich without dressing, in the future I'd get mayo or oil and vinegar. Good sandwich even dry. The slugger is meatball with crumbled hot sausage and banana peppers. Great sandwich! Spicy, flavorful, hot, with a shot of flavor every time there's a banana pepper bite. The star of the meal tho was the potato salad. I think I tasted pickle juice and mustard in the wet part of the salad, and they also added bacon. I kept picking at the potato salad even though I was stuffed, it's so good! I'm glad this place opened close, I'll be back for sure, and will def try out different sandwiches next time too. Oh yeah, Mancini's buns! Yum! But be careful, the soporific effect of these buns is not to be underestimated.

We got the signature breakfast sandwich, a turkey sandwich, and a chili hot dog for our brunch. Also you get a 5% discount for paying in cash. In addition to the turkey sandwich ($8.5) we decided to add a drink and side to make it a combo ($13). However, I l was very disappointed at the apple slices which is why docked an extra star. The apple slices were tiny and super soggy. On top of that, I'm not even sure if the fruit was washed. I was hoping the darker color stuff on the surface was a scratch or something, but I was literally scratching dirt off. This felt pretty unsanitary and I kind of lost my appetite. The turkey sandwich was also very small, so probably plan to order more if you need to eat more to get full. It's probably best to skip the side and drink combo and rather order another item off the menu in lieu of the side/drink. To be honest, the sandwich isn't really worth the price for its small size. The signature breakfast sandwich was pretty interesting since instead of bread, they use a glazed donut around the eggs, sausage, and cheese. It's a mix of sweet and salty, so it may or may not suit your tastebuds. The food here was decent but nothing memorable so 3.5/5. I guess I'll round up my overall 2.5/5 rating (after taking into account the dirty apples) though.
