Nice and light and airy and clean, the fillings are all prepared exactly to your specification, and there is a good choice of fresh bread types to have. There are usually various meal-deals to be had, making for a good filling lunchtime snack for a very reasonable price. The shopfronts and sides are all large plate-glass and filled with seating booths so it's an excelletn place to people-watch as you take the weight off your feet! Having eaten in Subways in the USA, I have to say that the UK franchise counterparts are not so generous with their sizes or their have the same wide variety of fillings. But - it's still very good comparative value for over here, and is genuinely very scrumptious!

So instead we ordered platters for our group of 12 from The Granary Canvas about 10 minutes away. The staff at the Granary Canvas were incredibly friendly and we had no problems with pre-ordering food over the phone and paying over the phone. The prices were good and the portion sizes were very big and having it all delivered to the pub for us was great too.

Last time I visited it took longer than that so the staff happily gave us free lunch vouchers for next time. Sides included skinny chips, thick chips, simple salad, and coleslaw. Definitely would come back!

Anyone in hospitality will tell you that when you take a drinks order, you serve the drinks. You…read moredon't wait for food to be ready, you don't wait for August. You just serve the drinks. Ten minutes later, comes the beer. That needs a fixin. Now, a burger is a kind of sandwich. A sandwich is something you can pick up with one hand and eat while reading a map. I got a cramp in my face trying to get my mouth around this thing. I had to eat this thing with a knife and fork. The bun was superfluous. It was tasty otherwise, though the 'onion rings' in the burger came apart long before they were cooked, leaving streaks of batter within the burger. They're perhaps best left as a side. The chips/fries here are a fail. The nothingness of the skinny fries or the pale not quite crispness of the chunky fries don't leave much of a dilemma. I avoid. As is par for the course in a restaurant that narrowly misses the mark, the service is mostly excellent; the staff is warm and friendly. That is worth the visit. Otherwise, some quality-control is needed.
