It represents true value for money and is much better than the university canteen and Subway. There are a number of sandwich fillings you can have and all sandwiches are made to order. Everything from a salad bap to a sausage and bacon sarnie. Price wise it's cheaper than competitors but the only down side is that it is take away only. It's only down the road from Hanley Park so if it's a nice day, venture there to enjoy a lunchtime snack.

They do it so well i think they will be there another million years. Friendly couple in there told me some of the history of the place when i went in, but my eye were fixated on that spit roast spinning behind him. "I damn care about your history bro" i thought to myself, all i wanted that that perfect pork sandwich i know they can create. The place is cheap and the sandwiches are fat as hell. This little bakery was jammed with all kinds of bread, pastries and cookies. I selected a sticky bun type of thing with raisins and currants as well as a chocolate chip cookie. Both were fantastic. Everything is made fresh every day, and every lunch time there is a queue out of the door. Service is pretty fast as it's over the high, goody-filled counter, but it's always polite. The BLT sandwiches are salty and full of awesome, the fresh cream cakes are hard to resist, and the custard slices are cut far more neatly than mine at home. I'm not particularly fond of the chocolate numbers myself, if I'm tempted, I go for the rhubarb and cherry slices (super moist), and things like the Belgian buns are pretty snazzy too. A couple of things worth noting are- They have a slicing machine- so if there's any loaves you want, but are only capable of cutting diagonal doorsteps at home, they can deal with it. If you want a hot sausage or bacon sandwich for example, you're possibly going to have a little wait as they like to cook things fresh. If you ring in advance, you can avoid standing in the corner by the fridge of drinks for a short while.

We grab a seat and I find the breakfast for me. Going for the large option. Essentially 1 or 2 of everything you want in a breakfast. Plus beans. We are soon ordering and the beans are easily ditched for an extra hash brown. Whilst waiting we notice that they do an eating challenge called The Hibernator. Which is over 4 times what I've ordered. If I'd had the time I might have given it a go. Could well be back to do this Food arrives quickly. It's all looks freshly cooked which is nice. It's nicely presented and I even enjoy the tomatoes, which I'm usually a bit reluctant on. My only minor quibble would be that as a ketchup addict, I would have liked to have seen a bottle of this, rather than the packet provided. All in all. A good spot to stop if you find yourself stuck in Congleton. And worth making the visit to try the Hibernator.
