Just off the main drag Court Street and right across the street from another dining institution, Casa Nueva, O'Betty's works from lunch 'til the late night coming out of the bars just steps away. Whether it is burlesque posters in the front room or hot dog kitsch in the back, it is never a dull moment for the visual senses as you wait a short time for your order. They have at least 10 distinct dog combos with the Syra and its grilled mushrooms and Swiss cheese making it tasty with or without catchup. The dogs are great, the fries are fantastic - hand cut that day, soaked in water to pull out the starch and then twice fried, they are a gift that keeps on giving, especially when you opt for the loads of roughly chopped fresh garlic. Others go farther with chili sauce and or cheese sauce. Those a bridge too far for me as malted vinegar and garlic are what the doctor (if not my neighbor) ordered.

Every once in a great while when I don't have to be at work by 7 am, I'm actually able to grab…read morebreakfast at Taco Bell due to stores opening at 7 am rather than 6:00 or 6:30 like normal fast food restaurants. I absolutely LOVE the steak breakfast crunch wrap meal. So yesterday, I ordered online before leaving home shortly after 7 am so I could pick it up on my way to work. When I arrived at the restaurant and approached the front doors, an employee ran out and told me they were closed! I asked, "How can you be closed? I just placed an order online!" She hesitated before finally telling me she had "accidentally" slept in that morning and not everything was ready. She explained I would need to wait approximately 20-25 minutes until eggs were ready to complete my order. I informed her that was not possible, nor acceptable, and I would just like my money refunded. she explained online orders could not be refunded in store but instead must be completed through the app. I said that didn't work either! Since eggs were the only item keeping my order from being completed, I asked if they could complete the order minus the eggs. She said that would not be a problem! (This was the second time in less than a week a lack of eggs had held up my order at this store!) As I entered the store, I had to dodge toys and blankets as the restaurant resembled a day care center with two kids playing on the floor. Just not what I expected, but again, the store was technically "closed" at that point! (7:28 am) I finally got my order which tasted great! To be honest, Taco Bell eggs lack taste and are nothing more than protein filler for their quesadillas and crunch wraps! I thanked the lady for getting my order ready. Inside the bag, I found five vouchers for a free taco as compensation for my inconvenience! A surprise ending to a rocky start to breakfast!

The food was amazing, and I was a bit taken aback that the fries (that I didn't intend to order before the lady at the counter suggested them) were five dollars, but when they arrived they were the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. As when the lord our God descends from high heaven, and purifies the land with his touch, and all fries come as pure as the lord intended, these fries will stay the same, for they have already achieved perfection. The interior was pretty neat as well, with several pictures with "Louie" photoshopped into them. It was a small seating section, about three 4 seater tables. The general layout was pretty dim-lit and cool, and had a quiet atmosphere where you can just hear the cooks create your AMAZING sandwich :)
