I stopped going to Subways in my first year of university... But up until then, and throughout my time at school I loved them. The sub of the day was a great mid day meal, and I loved the variety, apparent freshness and speed of the places. When I came to Brighton this became the perfect post night out snack... with a foot long being the dream.
As I was beginning to loose my passion for subways though (the Italian BMT lingering on the tongue the next day was a definite low point) I came across this Subway, and boy am I glad I did. I had only around £1.70 on me, and as my friend was deciding what to spend his gorgeous, crisp £5 note on, I thought there was no harm in asking the lady at the counter if she would let me have a subway. She did! And then offered me a cookie! Yay! I know it was nearly closing time, but what a lovely gal.
I've been back since, but never saw her to thank her again, but did discover this is my favourite subway, seeing as you have plenty of seating outside to enjoy Batholomew square on a pleasant summers day... Just make sure you get cash out first, as the ATM here charges money, and its a frustrting walk to the nearest cash point... read more
