Refused to sell me the $5.00 foot long I heard advertised on TV a while ago. So I went to Little Caesars and had a $5.00 pizza instead.

We eat here frequently. The sandwich artists are friendly and work hard to get the orders right.

So today was our day to visit. Unbelievable that we got parking right in front of the building. Walked and hoped on line. They have a pleasant atmosphere with fresh flowers on their tables and staff willing and able to assist walking the floor making sure everything is clean and tidy too. Popcorn chicken and waffle fries for my guys and for me a Chicken Caesar cool wrap with "grilled" chicken. Requested crispy chicken modification and was denied, they can not substitute. What?!? How hard an ask is that?! Apparently not allowed. We were given a plastic table tent and sat down indoors. As we sat I got to look around a bit. They have coloring for kids as well as a cute "Sit with the cow" program. Scan the QR code and you get to have the cow sit with you at your table. Fun idea. Our food arrived in a timely manner and boy did we time it right. While eating the line for dining in went out the door. After that wave another Sunami came through, two athletic teams from UMFC arrived. First their baseball team then 10 minutes later their soccer team arrived. Talk about popular. So now for the quality of the food. The p popcorn chicken were really good. No sauce needed. The waffle fries were delicious, crispy in the outside and soft I. The inside. Now for the wrap, not so great. As you will see, where's the chicken?? Looks more like deli meat than real grilled chicken. It was a dry sandwich to boot. Thankfully you get a sauce to go with, ranch for me. I ate the whole thing with the help of the sauce. Lemonade was good. The reason the substitution was not acceptable, it's pre made in a sealed plastic container. Not really sure what the hype is about this place, maybe it's the service from start to finish, maybe it's the atmosphere that makes you feel welcome, or maybe they have a favorite that keeps them coming back. I suppose I'll have to come back and find my favorite.

And we close on Sunday... gosh, how original. For you Bangers who line up along the drive-thru... there's a Mcd's, a Wendy's a chipotle ... lotsa alternatives ... and guess what, they have chicken too! We get together one a month to chat about old times and our retirement. We take turns choosing a different breakfast restaurant each time. After a few years we had tried most of the regular places in the area. I was looking for another centralized place when I drove by The Hilton Garden Hotel in Bangor, Maine. They have a breakfast buffet every morning from 6-10 AM. I was greeted promptly, seated and options explained. The buffet, which included the coffee, seemed just right. The serving line had all the usual offerings: scrambled eggs, French toast, pan cakes, sausage, bacon, home fries- not the shredded potatoes, etc., and a fruit bar. The best part was the 2 chefs who prepared to take your order for anything else. I got the omelets with bacon, mushrooms, onions, green peppers and cheese. The waitress was very pleasant and checked frequently for coffee refills or if anything else was needed. The omelets were outstanding, same with the fluffy pan cakes, soft French toast, especially the crispy bacon. I have been back 3 times since January of 2026. Great chefs, staff and food. If you are in the area, you can not go wrong by giving them a try.

We had three kids in tow. Peanuts, though advertised, were not on the table but an empty, unclean bucket was. We asked for some and the friendly hostess hooked us up with two bags worth. We had no issue with the atmosphere, despite it being packed, and despite proximity to the bar and about six televisions playing four different things people were being courteous and quiet. Families were well-represented, as were two-person tables. The server was prompt and attentive and returned about as often as was necessary. As for food... I would avoid the three-choice appetizer: fried cuke rounds, barbecued pork, mozzarella sticks. Only the cukes were...delicious. Barbecue sauce was sickeningly sweet and overwhelming. I ordered plain water and drank three glasses of it during the course of the meal because everything was salty. Four of us had steaks which were done as ordered but lacked seasoning and sauce. On the dry side but not bad. Baked potato was massive and salty. The kabob was just right but the bed of rice was, you guessed it, over-seasoned and over-salted. And such small portions. Caesar salads lacked taste, mostly because grated cheese was almost nonexistent. Very bland dressing. I think we all agreed the exceptionally large fries were soggy. I don't think either the prices or the food quality were draw enough to want to go back and besides this, I'm probably right at my sodium allowance for the month, after that meal. Next time in Bangor we'll maybe try the Korean steakhouse.
