It comes wrapped in 3 layers of tin foil and is extremely hot, so you might want to use the plastic fork to open it up and let it cool off a bit. Once you can handle it, your taste buds will be treated to a massive amount of tender smoky meat. It's a bit salty, like jerky, but sometimes that's just what you want. It's massively sticky and the hand sanitizer at the truck doesn't cut it, so maybe stick with utensils.

I can for certain say, this will one of my usual spots for lunch - or breakfast now. Today I enjoyed a couple ground beef tacos on a soft flour tortilla. The ground beef is flavorful and delicious. They top it off with romaine lettuce, tomatoes and cheese. These are of high quality and they do not skimp either. All together, these tacos are the bomb!! The red salsa is delicious, spicy with a bit of a kick that went well with the tacos. The staff is super friendly and I did not have any communication problems. Just super sweet and helpful with great Customer Service!!! The place is clean and yes - its inside a gas station, but in Austin - some of the best Tacos come from a Taqueria in a gas station. The convenient store is that - convenient. One stop shop for good food, gas, and all the convenient store has to offer. I cannot wait to try out all the other delicious food they have here. What you get here are chicken sandwiches that are different than what's primarily available such as: - Chicka Boom Sandwich: a Karaage-style (lightly battered) fried chicken thigh infused overnight in sake, soy, and Japanese herbs and spices, with an assortment of veggies, yuzu (think: lemon) aioli, and yuzu slaw. ($12.99) - Chicken Katsu Sandwich: a Katsu-style (panko bread crumb crusted) chicken breast with goat cheese, yuzu aioli, and apple slaw. ($12.99) The main difference here aside from the variation of the veggies would be the texture. Chicka Boom would be a lot more lighter and softer. Katsu would be crunchier! Can't go wrong with both, but if I had to pick: Chicka Boom is my fav. Plus you get to choose a sauce when you order and you GOT to get the Triple Herb ranch which is made of garden mint, basil, and cilantro - it's TOO GOOD!! The yuzu honey aioli is a good runner up as well, the sweet creamy sauce would be a contrast to the herbal one above. You can also get: - Karaage-Style Popcorn Chicken: similar sentiments to what I said above - good choice if you don't want a sandwich! ($11.99 for the large with no toppings) - Tater Tots: this has a blend of spices and sauces, what's more to say? Just look at the picture. They were a welcome addition to my meal. ($8.99 for "all the way") - Mac Daddy (COMING SOON!): think about the oriental blend of herbs and sauces you've seen throughout the sandwiches now imagine them with creamy, rich delicious mac & cheese. This was addicting! It's not on the menu yet, but stay tuned because it will soon! All in all, you get good food from a chef that has years of culinary experience and she knows the ins and outs of the chicken sandwich industry. I highly suggest you give Chicka Boom a try.
